LOL, I wondered whatever happened to "Santa Mantle." That card made headlines a few years back when it changed hands the last time. I actually lived just north of Charlotte, NC in 1980. Unfortunately I was only 3 years old.

That acuna superfractor seems a bit light at 33k.....I'da thought somewhere in the 60-70k range.... maybe after this MVP season coming perhaps...

Why is an Authentic 1958 Topps card #418 WS Batting Foes that has Mantle and Aaron signatures worth $30,600? That is one I just don't get. The card has been Altered, trimmed most likely, so for just a Mantle & Aaron autograph they are worth $30K together on a trimmed card? What is your thinking on this going for such a high value?

I personally am not an autograph guy, but the price seems fair. The card is not trimmed (otherwise PSA would not grade it) but more likely the submitter just chose not to get a number grade for it.

Just seems funny & odd that the submitter chose not to grade the card and get an authentic grade instead when the card looks decent and is maybe a 7 or 8 grade from appearance.

Before I’d buy ever an “8” grade, I’d examine it very closely.With all the film-flaming in the graded card world I’d bet the majority of the high grade cards have been trimmed. Esp. The 50’s cards as no one took proper care of cards in that era and most were misprinted/off cut from the factory.

I remember buying as a 12 year old kid a 62’ Topps box for $1.20 plus tax in 1962..those were the days!! It was in late August so more than likely a 7th series box!!…Great video Chris!!

Ok please someone explain this before my head explodes. You can get a 1938 Joe DiMaggio for under 20K but an Anthony Volpe ( whatever that is ) costs $100K .

Agreed, it makes no sense at all. That Volpe card will go nowhere but down from here, even if he turns out to be a hall of famer. A highly touted prospect like Volpe would have to end up being top 5-10 all-time goats for even a chance of their 1st bowmans coming back up to that price 20 years from now. It’s absolutely absurd that prospect cards, and even NFL and NBA rookie cards, sell for that much.

Sad story time!! As a kid I had all those 72’ basketball cards. Not being a huge B-ball fan as a teen, I gave them all away! Although I still have the football set in high grade, Boy that B-ball sets worth a lot of coin!…Artis Gilmore $28g’s? P.S-Thanks for showing the Bobby Orr card, Ghe most miraculous player I’ve ever seen across all sports- A guy who could do the impossible in his sport. BUT he knew the danger and only played really 8 years of a 10 year career. Very sad.

Who do you think is buying the majority of these 5 and 6 figure cards . Are they collectors, investors , dealers, or just some trust fund kids with too much disposable income. Just the sheer number of $10,000 and up cards that are sold on a weekly basis is astonishing. Maybe I’m just a broke b****
