It's a little funny, it's like every accent had to make some hard choices about when they were gonna pronounce the letter R. Agreed. Something I've noticed us that player characters have trouble retreating. Even when its clear that nothing will he lost by leaving and they can always come back when their sttonger. I theorize that the 'I'm not leaving' mentality is leafy over from playing linear videogames, where players are only really taken out of impossible or overly difficult situations by cutscenes and the like.

As for the players forgetting, DnD is a game usually played once a week, if that. If you don't take good notes while you play your doing it wrong.

I'm fairly certain she is. Npcs usually gain XP like players while doing stuff with them, and I think last campaign he mentioned other npcs levelling up

I believe so too, when I DM any NPC's that were part of an experience gain their fair share as well. I'm just wondering if mark has any a little extra tidbits for us. There's never any guarantee that one DM will make the same ruling as another.

I don't take XP away from the players, but yes, Arval and Valla both are "progressing" along with them, the more they are involved in things. Their progression is slower and I never give NPCs full "classes" they usually just gain hit dice and additional spells/abilities.

Why are you trying to do all the shopping in a _much smaller town_? Gods.
