@@dsphillips16 Thank you... it's been a lifetime of gradual acquisition....it's quite fun to share it as well.... I have as much fun, if not more, with the high end, low grade as I do the high grade..... I absolutely love the PSA 1 - PSA 5 grades. It's been interesting to watch the overall saturation of the high end, low grade market in vintage the last 30 years.

Really nice collection, some context on the Mcdavid, that card is a upperdeck epack exclusive. upper deck has an online website where you can rip packs of their product online and in conduction with COMC you can have them shipped to yourself or to comc to sell. the silver foil cards are only gotten through combining 5 young guns together on the website, basically meaning that that silver foil is 5 mcdavid young guns total. this was not a pack inserted card and so i assume there will be no more of these ever "created" circulation is very finite. a psa 10 of just the normal is about $4k on the mcdavid so the expect value of 5 together would be $20k. Now i dont know the market on these silver foils im sure if you asked anyone they would rather have 5 base psa 10's over 1 foil so the value is in the $10-20k range but who knows maybe someone realizes how much more rare these are then the base and the price goes up with upper deck adding coloured parallels to the young guns this year might normalize it more in the hockey hobby and these cards.

It says a lot that a business can exist and thrive producing "grade correction" stickers for PSA cards...and they are color coordinated to indicate how badly the grade was off. Keep sending those subs in though!

I looked up that Cert # on the '63 Rose PSA 6.5 ~ on the PSA website ~ the photo is incredible. I can't see how that got a 6.5 either. What a find.

Hey, the cards get a PSA holder and the PSA holder gets a ...What kind of holder do the PSA slabs have? First time seeing them. Depending on how many colors you could sort your collection by associating a color with a grade. EX: Red = PSA 10, Blue = PSA 9, etc.

For the 1963 #537 Rose rookie PSA 6.5 you quoted the last sale as $2,676 and would expect that card to go higher if it were sold now. I don't doubt it would because it has the nonsense eye appeal sticker. The sale you quoted is from eBay on 3/10 of this year but the issue is when you try to click on that link the page is missing. I don't know if this means the sale didn't go through or it's a simple error or something else. This means I can't enlarge the photo and see how nice it's supposed to look. If I could it would be interesting to compare it to a recent BVG 6.5 that sold for around $1,000 less. (1/21 on eBay) Roughly speaking, a PSA 6 of this card goes for $2,200, give or take. A PSA 7 goes for about $4k on the nose more or less. I've always been fascinated with how PSA half grades sell. In short, never in the middle of the grades, always on the lower end. (for cards of significant value) Also a decent idea for a video. With how few cards actually receive a half grade and what that should imply it would be very interesting. For example, the Pete Rose rookie card has 424 PSA 8s and only 18 PSA 8.5s. Does that mean that the 424 PSA 8s are on the lower end of being an 8 since they didn't receive an 8.5? If so, it kind of tosses the whole idea of how good your flat grade card looks and that it was potentially under graded. If it really looked better it would have received a half grade.

The 1977 Topps Pete Rose #450 PSA 10 you quoted the last sale at $5,650. I assume you're quoting the sale on Heritage from 3/24 where the price was $5,640. (includes BP) The most recent sale of this card was actually on 4/14 on SCP Auctions for $4,393. The most noteworthy recent sale prior to that was also from SCP at the end of last year on 12/3/23 for $7,788. That's quite the difference in prices for a card sold on similar platforms with the same grade over a rather short period of time for a card that should be more or less stagnant. I've always thought something like this would be good to delve into the potential whys in the form of a video.
