@@godlgnv1155 Well, unlike Rimuru who was largely handed power, Issie had to earn it. For what it's worth, the whole RPG mechanics 'verse concept doesn't really work. Once the MC figures out how to unlock skills, it's reduced to a grind-a-thon. Naofumi from Rising of the Shield Hero was in a similar boat. Yeah, he had some early setback, but the other three hero's performed so poorly because they didn't read the manual, it was clear Naofumi was destined to be unbeatable despite the other three having the capacity to match and ecxeed him.

I fucking LOVE this rage scene, the last clip of it dubbed got Thanos snapped, so i had to settle for the sub. Watched DxD dubbed entirely and never regretted it. This is one of my all-time favorite rage scenes, too. Even before this clip, Issei just being *lost* and sounding broken about where Asia went just HURT me, like he knew he just saved her, but she's gone, and he can't understand *why.* Then Shalba decides to punch his ticket by showing up and oooooooh boy. @@joesmith701 I prefer Born's Version because it feels *dark,* like it's powerful and cool, but it's a *bad outcome.* Issei isn't talking, the souls in the Gear are chanting, *DDRAIG TOLD RIAS AND CO TO GTFO,* this moment is intense and *dangerous.* Hero's version feels more "light" and almost heroic, like a Power Rangers sequence rather than a super-powered evil side taking over. To me that made Hero's version have a weird disconnect of tone. I don't really mind the song calming him down, it kinda breaks the tension to me, especially after Shalba got vaporized. Yeah Issei is still rampaging in Juggernaut Drive, but in Born the other characters had to do some funky things to bring him back, even Vali joining in as like his first act of being more of an anti-hero rather than Issei's rival and archenemy. The song calming him down shifts the tone back from serious to DxD's brand of light-hearted ecchi. So overall, I do like both versions, because it's just more DxD, but each one has things I like and dislike. The main dislike I have of Born is just how TNK fucked up the continuity of the season in general, which caused the mangaka to jump ship and have Studio Passione take over for Hero. When he did, Passione put railroad tracks for Hero and stuck directly to the source material, which included the animation change for making the characters look younger. Because let's be honest, seasons 1 - 3 of DxD made everyone look weirdly like they were in college, not high school.

The "Who are you?" and "I don't know you." seem to be last minute lines like they forgot to write the lines and just threw some random ones in there. @@sunakunxv the problem with the dub is some lines feel like they phoned it in with little to no emotion, the Japanese one tends to oversell especially Issei so I perfer the English version of Issei but Sub Akeno voice is peak.
