Even the school district came back and said that that was what happened and that they don't stand by it. Apparently you're the only one who stands by it. I am only replying to your comment because I have seen how lately these graduation ceremonies have become like a carnival atmosphere. It goes back to my comment about rules and regulations. Kids today dont like rules and regulations. The Principal clearly stated no dancing on stage. What is wrong with the Principal wanting a classy, dignified ceremony. Not kids doing dances and cartwheels and breakdancing. Being humble and classy will never go out of style. Yes it is an achievement to get your diploma but how about continuing that achievement by showing restraint and class. One school told the kids the same thing and every single one of they purposely danced and carried on. It looked really bad. They all were escorted out from the ceremony and should have been. It looked like spring break the way the so called educated kids where acting. What's wrong with just coming up and getting your diploma, shaking the principals hand and getting off the dam stage and sitting back down? Is that too hard to do? I know this will not be a popular comment with you.
@jrize3228 Жыл бұрын
If kids are allowed to break rules, what happens when they enter the workforce? They’re gonna act like they’re entitled people who think they can do whatever they want when there are rules and decorum already in place, no matter how ridiculous the rules are. I know, coz I’ve seen it - day after day. People acting like they’re entitled to do whatever they want. Stop coddling our children. If the school wants to impose rules, as long as it’s not breaking the law or being discriminatory, let them. If u don’t want the school teaching anything, home school your children.

So many seem to miss the point here... the young lady stated she knew the rules and she along with 2 decide to make decisions that would alter "this memory they'll never get again". If it was that important to you, she would've realized and remembered (along with the clearly soft accompanying music) that in every stage if life there is a time and place. She couldve griddied all across the dancefloor or lawn (at the venue for the after party) or even off stage after receiving her diploma. Instead she made a conscious and premeditated decision... Not her first and won't be her last in her coming life. She'll need to simple decide if it's worth it. In the end she still issued her diploma so what is this story really highlighting??

6ABC WPVI Taped June 16, 2023 Released June 15, 2023: Please get the story right, Sarah: 1) Hafsah didn’t get her diploma “snatched” away from her, she never got her diploma at all, not until AFTER the ceremony, as promised! And of course she got to keep it. 2) Hafsah didn’t “walk” across the stage, she DANCED across the stage. That’s what this is all about. And Brianna, you’re missing some parts too: 1) Hafsah admitted during the June 9 interview that she “knew and understood” what the graduation rules were, she also admitted that she knew what she was ”supposed to do” in order for her to get her diploma ON stage. She knew all this before the graduation ceremony began. So that can only mean that Hafsah acted out of disrespect and defiance. If Hafsah wanted to handle this correctly, she would have taken her grievances to school staff, administration or the school board BEFORE the ceremony began. But instead Hafsah and her mother are coming up with excuses like Covid, and now the unfortunate death of her 15-yr-old sister Aisha 9 years ago. But very unfortunately this is more about disrespect, defiance and not going through the proper channels. Hafsah’s mother made a huge mistake and disservice to her daughter by not using this incident as an opportunity to teach her daughter the importance and necessity of respecting the people in charge.

Imagine going through 12 grades plus kindergarten and preschool and dancing to celebrate your achievement, and when a few people (some may not have even been her family) laugh, you don’t even get an award for it. That is some stupid stuff

Actually going through twelve grades is no big deal.. That's one problem in the united states everyone thinks it is so great to graduate from high school.. Certainly it is not any great feat. It is nice and then life goes on and there is more to accomplish.

@debrareecesimons1 they have graduation from preschool, then kindergarten, then middle school, then high school. It's a bit crazy lol. In my day we just had high school graduation.

The principal enjoyed denying the students. Pretty sure she leads a miserable life.

That's what I was thinking too, she must be really lonely and miserable. What kind of person ruins a student's special moment over a harmless little "happy dance"?

That principal lady has a terribly sad life. What an embarrassment of a Karen.

How sad! Few seconds of dance brought to such a harsh punishment.😢

Exactly! Save that foolishness for the graduation party. She wanted to be a clown and thought they would let it slide. She got what she deserved and the school should've never apologized to her. The girl owes them an apology for breaking the rules.
