That's kinda wrong. It is true that drew sang all the songs, BUT there were songs where you can hear Zac singing. They kinda mixed the voices together. For example Breaking Free. At the beginning it's Zac's voice. & then drew starts to sing. It's also pretty interesting once you hear the differences.

guys Zac did not want to have to lip sync is voice was too low for the character at the time. He really stepped up when he sang in 2 and 3. Personally I think his voice is the true Troy Bolton. Just thing of Bet on It and scream is voice was AMAZING.

His vocal range couldn’t hit the high notes necessary at the time. They brought in Drew who sang the parts for Zac as they were already recorded in Drew’s voice. Since they knew Zac couldn’t hit the high notes, in HSM 2 & 3, they lowered the vocal range necessary in the songs to fit Zac’s voice!

Drew 1000%. I was never a huge HSM fan, but as soon as the second one came out and Zac actually started singing I could tell pretty quickly that there was a difference and I wasn't loving it. It was this reason that most of my favorite songs (Troy's specifically) ended up being from the first movie despite the fact that I kind of like the second movie better. Zac has a good voice, don't get me wrong, but Drew's was way more professional and polished in the movies. His vocals are so smooth and beautiful. He also sounded like he had better range and vocal control while sometimes Zac's was a little uneven because he didn't have the same amount of vocal training as Drew. Zac does have a little special something though, I'll give him that. They're both really great.
