The confusion in regards to which state springfield is in is a long running joke in the show

​@@SchoolPrincipalReactsThey don't, but if you look at the OG opening of the show they DID show Illinois, but being that it's a cartoon show, they wanted it to be YOUR Springfield… as there's a Springfield in other States as well… Virginia, Missouri and others…

@@jescis0 and to add to the joke, in The Simpsons Movie, Flanders mentions that Springfield borders Ohio, Kentucky, Maine, and Nevada, which of course would be geographically impossible

@@SchoolPrincipalReacts The default seems to be a combination of Oregon and Illinois. They give it some Northwest features and some Midwest features. Very few Southern or Northeastern features.

11:22 It’s never really made clear what state Springfield is in. Usually, when I hear “Springfield”, I default to Springfield, Illinois, but sometimes to Springfield, Massachusetts. I know for a fact that Springfield’s state is inspired by Oregon, which is where the series creator, Matt Groening, hails from. And wouldn’t you know it: Oregon just so happens to have a real town named Springfield that you can access by taking the Interstate 5, which also runs through his hometown of Portland.

I’m open to it, but I will need some suggestions. I went looking for that one day, and found plenty of shows that focus on school, but in a lot of the shows the characters don’t really spend any time at the school lol thanks. 😂

Love that bit with Julio Estudiante at the end. For those who don't know, it's a reference to Jaime Escalante, a teacher from a predominantly Latino school in East Los Angeles who took on the ambitious task of teaching calculus to students who had at best a tenuous grasp of algebra. Most of them ended up passing the AP exam. There's a brilliant movie called Stand and Deliver based on his story; Edward James Olmos played Jaime Escalante and was nominated for an Oscar.

My high school and middle school were all in one building 6-12. The middle school principal was married to the middle school cheerleading coach/high school weight lifting teacher. Actually had an incident with them when I was a senior in high school trying to get me involved in some very specific extracurricular activities during my lunch period. Also, the Simpsons has been going on since 1989 and their town Springfield’s location is kept secret because they want people to be able to imagine it’s just like where they are, but also to not offend any one specific area.

Loving the Simpsons reactions from here in Canada! I wish my principal in high school was like you. We must have different conflict of interests rules. We had two teachers who were married working at my school. Also my history teacher ended up having a fling with one of the guidance counsellors. Ironically, her daughter was in my class too lol.

Bart filling his paper with ads reminds me of a skit from the Saturday Night Live episode dated May 3, 2003 (S28E18). It has lots of hilarious satire about plagiarism in reports, and I think you’d like it.

What you mentioned earlier about ethics about dating between principals and teachers would those laws apply to a teacher and a support staff member it never happened me as a custodian but i was wondering

It depends on each state’s ethics rules, but it would be an issue either way. Even if it weren’t against the rules, it may cause one of them to be transferred to avoid problems.
