Im a filipino and i have dificulties at P.E in the U.S. Also im short. But being the shortest is like being a "Little Giant" to sports especially basketball. I keep practicing at home because its fun! You just gotta love sports and build you self up. I build myself up with stamina and height xD. You might be confused by what 400 meters is. The WORLD RECORD for the 400m is 43.03 seconds and most people in the world could only do 70s if they're healthy. You could be a highschool state champion if you run it in 47s. So if you could run 1/4 mile in 40 seconds, you would be an olympic champion.

I had always wanted to run in track in high school, I mean sure I was a girl, but I loved to run in PE more than anything in school. The only problem was the track... it was smooth, not many trees around it, and we would have to work in teams... I absolutely HATED that. One thing that helps me run is feeling free, being surrounded by nature, feeling chased so my body will force the extra speed upon me, and running on rough road. Not smooth could probably slip road. I needed the trees, I needed no team because that’s the one thing I hated most about PE, and I needed the rough ness of the road. Why is rough good? Well for one it helps me stop quickly, and two, it helps me go faster cuz my shoes will have something better to push up against to fling myself forward even further(combined with how fast my legs can move and the force I used with my legs to even push at all) Rule number one, ALWAYS LOOK BACK. AND IMAGINE YOUR WORST FEAR CHASING YOU. Rule number two, always move your legs fast, never long. The longer your stretches are, the slower. The fast of stretches, to faster. Tho means you will run out of stamina faster if you don’t conserve it well. This is also why I set up a path. A place to run, a place to jog, and a place to walk. Like this: Walk each corner, run half the straight road, and run the other halves. Since most tracks are made into circly squares.

Tho I had to become homeschooled after my first half a year of highschool, it just wasn’t my thing. The multiple choices of activities, which most I wasn’t interested in, tho I did get into a 3D animation class, but I never really wanted to take it since it was for 3D and I’m more of traditional and 2D. But it was the only other thing I wanted to learn, other than guitar and german. But I’m now teaching myself german and realized that I liked to teach myself more. It makes me feel more accomplished. I just wish I had done it with guitar when I had the chance. Now here I am, almost to summer and became homeschooled at Christmas.

There is nothing wrong with that. Dutch speaking people get butt hurt about it as well but it's perfectly correct, it's especially annoying if it comes from people that are supposedly grammar nazis. If you use it in the Dutch language as a borrowed word, it follows the Dutch rules, NOT the Japanese. For Dutch for example I asked our language union (taalunie(dot)org), which exists to managed the Dutch language in all the countries that speak Dutch, how to handle Japanese words. I received a clear response. They stated that if there is no specific exception for the word that you are borrowing, it follows the general Dutch rules of multiplication i.e. add an 's', so it spells anime's (general Dutch plural rule is if the word ends with vowel, add an apostrophe). I believe it's safe to assume the same applies for English, so animes, is perfectly correct. I'm not sure though, so best is to check with the right government institute.

I run a 4 59 1600 as a sophomore, which is pretty alright so heres some advice. If you're someone who gets super anxious before races: 1. Smile at the line. You can trick your body into thinking that nervous feeling is excitement. They're not all that different and smiling releases endorphins. 2. Let your body do the work. Your body knows how it feels to push if you trained hard enough. Your hard work won't just disappear overnight. You are a product of not giving up in those workouts or long runs etc. There is no game winning shot that needs luck in a race. Either you are faster than a guy or not. Trust in your athletic body 3. "Try something new" is something my coach always says. Running is a journey to learn more about yourself push your limits. Its ok to fail, but don't shrink away from pursuing that glory. It might not be a medal, but beating yesterday's you is a greater achievement. You don't need to prove anything except that you are not done with your growth. Good luck everyone👍🏻

Omg so embarrassing story ahead: I joined track this year for a sport at school. Unfortunately i couldnt make it to the first meet. So by the second meet the only spot left was hurdles. (ive been practicing for a running event the whole time -_- ) And my coach assigned me to do a 300m hurdle event. So my event was up and i they told us to just keep looking ahead and run. So i did and i was really far ahead of everyone so i was feeling very confident,then i start to feel my legs get very heavy and i start to get really tired. And i realise i still have at least 5 more hurdles to do so i looked behind me to see where people were and while jumping a hurdle ..I FELL. Everybody was running so naturally i got trampled on and i got up with cuts everywhere and began to run (i was 2nd to last by then) and i jumped 2 hurdles. but with all the cuts and blood everywhere i got kinda dizzy and tired and just kinda jogged and crossed over the hurdles .. and thats how i embarrassed myself infront of everyone 😊🔫

I never partook in any of the after school activities meets, except for swimming. Swimming the 500 was nothing but pure fun, even though you’re killing yourself especially since I still had a 200 and 400 relay at the end of the events. Damn, do I hate this pandemic, I would’ve most likely competed this year again, too bad it’s my senior year too. Whenever I was involved with a relay, I was usually second to last-to anchor. Which was good for me, because I was usually recovering from the 50, 100, and 500. I never let my anxiety of me being anchor take control, I was too busy cheering on my mates in front of me.

I did track in fourth grade with one of my best friends. We were the slowest and liked to enjoy ourselves. So one day, we were running through a park with a small forest trail. Then a dog just comes charging at us with no leash and the lady who owned him was like, "Sorry! *huff huff puff*" (jk nottt) My friend yelped and landed on her bottom. I screamed and jumped to the side. Awesome day.
