I remember sitting there at graduation seeing my principal declare that the last 4 years of shit I just went through was to be looked back by us as "The best years of our lives"...I turned to the guy next to me and asked him to just kill me now! Fuck dude, 7 weeks later I was at RTC Great Lakes being mashed by my company commanders so hard it rained inside the barracks, and as I am doing my 8 count body builders and being called shitbird by my drill instructor, the thought that kept going through my mind was ....THANK GOD I AM NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL ANYMORE. A few months later it is -70F standing gate guard at Great Lakes at 3 AM on Christmas...and I felt, THANK GOD I AM NO LONGER IN HIGH SCHOOL! Months later, I am crossing the "Silkworm envelope" in the straits of Hormouz (where Iranian Anti-ship missiles lock on to US Navy ships), while busting rust in 120 degree heat...and all I could think of was...THANK GOD I AM NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL ANYMORE! Transiting the South China Sea standing lookout on the fantail as the ship became half submarine in a typhoon, almost drowning me? better than High School. The day my hand got crushed in a rope a few days after seeing a dude decapitated with a snapped mooring line? better than High School. Sifting through body parts when boarding an Iranian PT boat we just fucked up and getting PTSD from the smell of blood, shit and diesel...still better than High School. And unlike in High School, at least we got to pull into Thailand and the PI for some bitching liberty! So when I got out, what did I do? I became a teacher. Lasted ten years, trying to make the experience better for the kids I taught. But came to the conclusion that public school is nothing but a gynocentric mess run by ne-marxist feminists, who treat boys like defective girls, and whose purpose is to not teach, but to brainwash into docile drones. My advice after teaching for ten years and quitting in disgust 16 years ago to any parent. HOME SCHOOL! Your kid will thank you!

About to enter my senior year. I’m so ready to be done with high school. I never really had any problems with bullying my past three years. People were just rude or would just gossip. Most teachers I’ve had have been really cool. The only things I haven’t really enjoyed are social interaction and having to get up early.

@@jamesmays8998 Fine, I guess. Looking back at this comment, it’s weird. I actually loved my senior year of high school. I was able to find my niche (theatre) and was able to pursue that and make a lot of friends. I’m currently in my junior year of college, and that’s going fine. I have my own place and I’m pursuing a career in teaching, and I’m also working/helping people in the film industry. I still deal with a lot of anxieties and stuff, but I think I’m headed in the right direction.

Let me share my story: Im a fourth year junior high school student about to graduate this July. I can tell its been horrible these past 4 years. I was the silent kid in the class and people would often indirectly call me names. Felt like toxicity was almost everywhere. I could barely find people who were geniune and almost everyone in Hugh school had shitty attitude. I feel like Im just enduring these past 4 yrs waiting for a community that is genuinely better and not shitty and actually cares about the passions of one another instead of going out and drink almost everyday after class. Looking forward for a better academic and social life in the years in my SHS and college.

Don't do drugs, alcohol, or sex. Not worth it in the long run. Turn in all of your assignments. It's more important in college, but any grade is better than a 0%. Dating a classmate is nice because it makes you want to go to school every day. Just recognize nearly all high school relationships don't last. You'll hardly ever see your classmates after graduation. I don't even remember the names of the people who bullied me. Know that college is a lot more fun. Good luck and study hard!
