I agree as well. Thank you for your post. Kelly is in my humble opinion the most real person that I know, and I really do not know her other than by this online network. But keeping it real is so important and she is such a blessing for those around. Voice of an Angel and a heart that has inspired me more than words can describe.

This means so much to me I was a single mom for all three of my children it was really a huge struggle to get the boys "cool" shoes i would save out of every paycheck for 6 months just to buy one pair of jordans and they would have to get them a little big so they would last so as a mom i wanna say i appreciate everything your doing for the kids xoxoxoxoxoox

"Changing the world with a dream and a friend..........." And we think the coming generation is apathetic and self-absorbed? It's looking to me like we're only moving upwards and forward with young people who start organizations like this one. "It's only a pair of shoes" many people will say. Well, how can you apply for a decent job without a pair of shoes? How can you stand on your feet all day and DO a decent job without a pair of shoes? How can you feel a sense of self-worth and confidence with shoes that are falling apart? With shoes that have holes in the soles to keep your feet wet all day long? A classmate I had back in the 1960's wore shoes that were lined with cardboard cut from boxes his grandpa pulled out of trash cans. There was virtually no soles left on the shoes, so every Sunday, Grandpa cut a new pair of insoles from cardboard. At that time there were no groups like Sole Bros; if you were on welfare you got new shoes once a year. If you were simply poor and one of six children in a home, you made do. Occasionally, a shoe store would be "charitable" and offer a discount on a pair of shoes, but even that didn't make it possible for some families to keep their kids feet covered. It's only gotten worse over time as most schools now require each child to have TWO pairs of shoes - one pair to wear outside and one pair to be left at school to be worn inside. If you can't afford one pair, how do you afford two? Bless these boys for hearing about need when they were young teenagers and actually taking the message on board and doing something about it.

Nice what you guys are doing....... correction- cardboard as shoes in Jamaica that statement is over exaggerated. As a proud Jamaican i can vow to that
@GillianLarmond Жыл бұрын
I am 50+ never left Jamaica, been all over the country, and have never seen cardboard for shoes. Maybe she saw one person or one family. While I appreciate what they are doing, it makes us sound bad.
