I’ve ordered mine in Lapis blue, I think it’s going to look brilliant with the darker badges, I did not order the Akrapovic exhaust I just could not justify the extra 3k plus as there’s no extra power increase. Also Scorpion and Remus do black tipped exhausts for about £1.3k which sound fantastic

black tipped exhausts go perfectly with the Black Edition & the darker badges, yes that's right. I was also unsure at first. I decided in favour of the Akra & don't regret it at all 😍

I've got also the Golf 8 R 2024 in lapiz blue, the black edition with the black exhaust. No Akra for me because I passed the 40 yrs.😂

@@oldkid6it’s been confirmed…it will be part of a package with the cloth seats, and which deletes the sunroof that is otherwise standard on the US R.

@@Jcrash1as much as I like the akrapovik exhaust, I can’t justify the cost when I’m sure aftermarket will be 2-3k cheaper and sound much better

I had mine for exactly 3 days before it was back at VW as the digital dash completely failed. Should hopefully get it back this week at some point!

yes congrats to the owner, I have to wait till march 2025 to take ownership of mine which is in similar spec ( Black, pan roof, leather, heads up, warmenau alloys, HK sound system). I won't be going for the Akrapovic exhaust as I found out you just get a back box for £3315 and not the full system which would have been so much batter. so for now ill keep driving my mk5 R32 dsg and my F40 M135i until then

First thing I would do would be to remove the plastic fender extenders! Awesome car-I wonder if the USDM edition will have a base and a Black edition since the US cars usually come fully loaded.

Yes! This is basically the exact same spec as mine, its got me so excited to take delivery! Not that i have any idea when that will be 🙃 Question for the owner, whats the HK sound system like? I have HK in my current Alfa Romeo which is very very good and im worried it wont be as good

Heii yea, really great sound. Especially if you're really into music and like to have loud and very good sound. The surround sound Pure Emotion as soon as you have discovered the right equaliser setting for you. But of course the standard system is also really good and should not be underestimated.

I'm hoping the US can spec these and order to spec vs just get what the dealer gets. I've got an allocation already in but have no idea how the specs will look. There's a lot to like about these. What I do not like is the complete lack of hard buttons and everything being hidden in menus and screens... some set up options are ok to be in menus like the mood stuff etc... but not everything... and yeah - that screen is ridiculous... it completely dominates the interior - in a bad way. Is there no boot cover? I hope that's not an extra.

boot cover is of course included. But I don't use them & have stored them directly. yes, the screen takes some getting used to. But once you're in & driving with it, I personally like it more and more. It's definitely not annoying. You can change a lot of things in the menu to make the function easier for you. Of course there are settings that are hidden. But you don't need them every day You really have to test drive the car for a few days to get to know it properly. I've only had it for 2 weeks now & I can say that I'm always getting to know new functions every time

how about 72-75k euro in Europe for a good spec? You guys in the US always gets the cheapest cars (but unfortunately you can't configure the desired car like europeans).
