In my early patrol years (1982), I had one pursuit that decided to cut across a field at close to sun down, I was gaining on him, all off sudden I saw his head pop off. His body and the bike wobble to a stop a short distance away. Turns out the rancher had strung a couple strings of barbwire with T-post laid out alongside to do crossection fencing to divide his pasture. Never forgot that incident, his last look of surprise on his facial expression on his decapitated head couldn't be unseen. Mil/Leo Analyst ret.

When I was younger I went for a ride in a t shirt on a hot July day and lost control on pavement being resurfaced on the highway , at about 70mph I hit my head first very hard (wearing a helmet) and then skidded on my back two shoulders down the highway , 100 yards or so until I hit the grass shoulder and flipped up in the air. This was over twenty years ago. I went home , washed my wounds and ate dinner until the pain was nearly unbearable. I ended up staying 2 nights in the hospital, with severe/extreme road rash. It took 8 months for the wounds to actually close. They would seep and then dry so wearing a shirt was difficult because you would have to pull the fabric off the wound. Impossible to sleep on your back. Taking heavy pain medication just to get up out of bed to eat and move around until I was luckily cut off. Then dealing with that withdrawal. I’m regarded by a lot of folks for being tough but the pain of having your skin burnt off like that is the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. Friends had to stay with me just to help me get along alright. I still till this day sleep on my side and have two massive raised scars on my two back shoulders. I still ride on occasion 2-3x a year and I rode for many years after that accident but largely have given up motorcycles. It’s extremely dangerous and really not worth the risk. I’ll have these scars for the rest of my life and I was just unlucky to have lost control that day. You can tell people , and I was told as a teen but unfortunately people often learn the hard way.

High speed motorbike accidents do increase organ donations but severe ones are very good at reducing the number of viable organs. Kidneys, liver, complete heart, spleen are often unusable. The pancreas, corneas, some skin may be salvageable, certain bones and ligaments/tendons and heart valves are an often salvageable. They will usually find a few pieces they can use. @@waynedavis7245 I rewatched it a few times, it looked like the SUV was in the left lane and shifted to the right to exit. Biker didn't see it happen in time, was planning to go around him on the right only to eat the SUVs rear bumper all the way on the left side.

The SUV driver will, and should, claim he saw the trooper's lights and merged right as he should. Not his fault that a motorcycle traveling at 100+ suddenly tried to occupy the same space.

Couple of comments. When he was accelerating and lane-splitting, he was able to keep a little gap. But it was too small of a gap to get out of sight. On the wide open hwy. he was pegging that bike out at about 140-142. The Charger would totally eat his lunch and real him in like a fish in a matter of seconds. Dodge makes one hell of an impressive squad car. The did it right. The second comment... how in the hell do you A$$-pack a car on a motorcycle at about 125mph and still be breathing when the squad rolls up? That was unbelievable.

If you have to pay double to ticket costs when in a construction zone, then you should have to pay double the costs of the car repairs if running from the police. Plus double any wages lost to the car driver you hit while their car is being repairs, and double the costs of an uber to get to work and unlimited rides during the time the car is being repaired. All assets are seized, 401k, property owned, all tax refunds seized, all public assistance funds seized, all payroll garnished 100%, including unemployment, or disability until its paid, with interest of the average credit card company charges in that area. Wanna run, hope you can afford it.

I froze it and zoomed in and it appeared at the moment of impact the left side of the SUV was across the dividing line for the right turn lane. The driver may have been starting to change lanes into the through traffic lane and the bike rider clipped him. The picture was too hazy to tell if the SUV had the brake or turn signal lights on.

@@Palaemon44 In Arkansas, the rear driver is usually at fault in a rear-end collision, but this isn't always the case. The rear driver is expected to leave enough space between their vehicle and the one in front so they can stop safely, even if the front driver slams on their brakes. If they can't stop safely, they're likely to be at fault. However, a jury can find either driver, both drivers, or neither driver at fault. In this case, going 100+mph, the bozo would likely be 100% responsible.
