中野さん、小柄ながらメチャクチャすごい！ 東京都大会の女子運用法の部で初めて拝見しましたが、その動きと強さに感動しました。 大学での部活動を卒業しても、ぜひ、少林寺拳法を続けていただき、どこかでその姿を拝見したいです。

1970年代の大学少林寺拳法部では胴とグローブと金的プロテクターだけで同じ練習をやってました。当時は乱取りと呼んでましたが、年々防具が進化していく時代でした。1980年の卒業記念にヘッドギアとマウスピースを部に寄贈した思い出があります。大学拳士よがんばれ、って気持ちです。

Because as they said in the video, this format is an introduction to competition fighting. It's designed to be a graduated system that teaches. There are other levels of competition where the restrictions don't apply, and another level above that where they ditch the gear and go full power with very few restrictions on technique.

It's funny that he says fighting other Budo is not a part of Shorinji Kempo. Many of the attacks we learn to defend in Juho only make sense in this context. They are not normal ways to attack unless you have some understanding of Jujitsu or Karate.

2:51 whoah.. Japan is so backward when it comes to woman's roles. That is literally the easiest and safest way for a person to spar, still the interviewer asks whether it is safe for a WOMAN to do that... lol . He apparently hasn't heard that Woman do all the things men do nowadays.
