@@kurtisgotyaditgits The guy isn't a pro like most of the table, so he's using something he has an edge in to even things out, his mouth. Televised poker will never survive if the entire table is a bunch of mute pros. You need people like Eric to liven things up. There's a reason Hellmuth gets invited to be on almost every televised poker event, and it's not because of his skill at the table.

I gotta say that if I get to choose an announcer it's gonna be Gabe all the way. He knows he is not the show and hence economizes with his words, thus let's us enjoy both the tension of the game and the table talk. And when he speaks he's spot on what's going on. And in a calm and clear voice at the perfect volume. Kudos, Gabe!

Poker used to be played like this. Before television. In saloons with gunslingers and normal joes alike. The witty vs. the intelligent. Drinkers vs. the gamblers. Throwing a chip or chips in the pot out of turn, the chip/chips remain in the pot and do not constitute a call or any part of a call when the opponent bets. In my opinion, the out of turn chip tossing is a form of cheating.

@Timothy John how is intentionally acting out of turn an angle? Do I really need to explain this? Not that it is even relevant, but you have no idea what the floors ruling would have been if Garrett decided to change his bet size, there is no blanket rule for this because what EP did was against the rules and an angle and B) Garrett would never do that, his main concern was not somehow taking advantage of an amateur not that he went from thinking his hand was best to being unsure. I GUARANTEE you if you show that clip to ANY professional they would tell you that is an angle. Maybe you don’t know poker very well which is fine, but if you do I assume that asking how that’s an angle is Trolling.

@@mattbrown6182 I don't know about this game, or any high stakes game really, but aren't a lot of these games self-policed? what happened at the end tho. I don't get it ? did Eric lose that hand?
@zachhenderson1657
@zachhenderson1657 2 жыл бұрын
@@dreamteamamv8177 Yes he lost the hand two pair K7 vs 3 of a kind 5s. He figured he might be beat so when he saw Garrett reach out to bet he threw chips into the pot before Garrett to signify he was going to call. By doing this he made Garrett think again about betting, figuring Eric may have a flush or better 3 of a kind. It was a mind trick that got Garrett to check back and not have to call a 70k bet to showdown.

@@zachhenderson1657 wtf are you talking about!? That’s not a “mind trick” - that is deliberately acting out of turn. It’s angling. It’s quite frowned upon. On some tables it is also entirely prohibited.

@@aa1bb2cc3dd4 Nah, I think it's brilliant. And it's a forced call, so although it might be confusing to the other player, the other player has an advantage knowing that he must call now if they bet. Some might not like it etiquette wise but seems it should be totally legal since it's a forced call.

Idk how Eric’s premature call worked to be honest with you. Maybe easy for me to say since I knew his cards but if Eric did have the nuts or wanted the other guy to raise why would he risk it by calling his raise before he even bet. This was obviously a scare tactic and a huge tell imo.
