@@kurtisgotyaditgits The guy isn't a pro like most of the table, so he's using something he has an edge in to even things out, his mouth. Televised poker will never survive if the entire table is a bunch of mute pros. You need people like Eric to liven things up. There's a reason Hellmuth gets invited to be on almost every televised poker event, and it's not because of his skill at the table.

I gotta say that if I get to choose an announcer it's gonna be Gabe all the way. He knows he is not the show and hence economizes with his words, thus let's us enjoy both the tension of the game and the table talk. And when he speaks he's spot on what's going on. Poker used to be played like this. Before television. In saloons with gunslingers and normal joes alike. The witty vs. the intelligent. Drinkers vs. the gamblers. Getting inside of your opponent’s head was a strategy to even the playing field. Respect to Persson for using that strategy. It’s fair game. Always has been.

Exactly, I agree. Patrik likes EP. He's one of the only players that wasn't intimidated by the table talk. Ivey, Dwan and Antonius. All immune to Person's antics. However, Garrett was definitely second guessing himself because of the same antics.

Throwing a chip or chips in the pot out of turn, the chip/chips remain in the pot and do not constitute a call or any part of a call when the opponent bets. In my opinion, the out of turn chip tossing is a form of cheating.

Not that it is even relevant, but you have no idea what the floors ruling would have been if Garrett decided to change his bet size, there is no blanket rule for this because what EP did was against the rules and an angle and B) Garrett would never do that, his main concern was not somehow taking advantage of an amateur not that he went from thinking his hand was best to being unsure. I GUARANTEE you if you show that clip to ANY professional they would tell you that is an angle. Maybe you don’t know poker very well which is fine, but if you do I assume that asking how that’s an angle is Trolling.

He figured he might be beat so when he saw Garrett reach out to bet he threw chips into the pot before Garrett to signify he was going to call. By doing this he made Garrett think again about betting, figuring Eric may have a flush or better 3 of a kind. It was a mind trick that got Garrett to check back and not have to call a 70k bet to showdown.

We all gonna just ignore that Ivey is the only one who didn’t get pumped here? Folded the worst hand and checked back the turn like a boss. They should just stick to their fundamentals and stop trying to have his table talk influence their decisions. He’s very balanced about when he talks and doesn’t
