owed 30k did what 99.99% of people cant do, got his head down recovered himself and what a come back. Yes he got lucky in the big drop never seen a big winner that hasnt. Well done to the fella he has what it takes. Do we remember 2003 wsop main event winner rivered an 8? went on to win. Tricket will be world champ sooner or later. He is also a great down to earth guy with fab family and friends this is a great story.

Seemed to me like the final two had an agreement before the end ever came. We are talking about two young guys vs. A billionaire for 28 million. Spoken or unspoken, they had an agreement.

Cool story, but I found it difficult to watch this documentary. When a so-called "documentary" spends over half the time repeating itself and/or setting up the situation, while the other half is quick-cut after quick-cut after flashy quick-cut... I feel as if it were created for people with ADHD. In fact, I think it probably causes ADHD. :\

Sam Trickett, is a smart, talented Hold'Em specialist. That said, he is young and has no money fear, because he has never been poor or without money in his life. He has ran well, and hasnt put alot of hours in with the top players. He has fed off amateurs, and the weak european suckers on the EPT and in Monte Carlo.

Tbh as good as Trickett is, all he felt was overconfidence and superstition. In a poker tournament it doesn't matter how good you are, you need so much luck, its impossible to really be confident unless you're deluded. You can't 'know' you're going to do well. He was over confident and he just happened to be lucky enough to go deep in it, but the two things are not in any way connected.

all in with flush draw you got 25% not a good play
@OwLoLz
@OwLoLz 8 жыл бұрын
Esfandiari could have folded. He also could have shown a lower flush draw, or a J, which would give the Q as an extra out. The play was good especially thinking of the chips Trickett had already put in that pot. Way more than 25 percent

I came 2nd in a tourney once cos I went all in with a flush draw I should of just waited for a better spot, the maths suggests the play is not profitable in the long run.

Um...anyone else notice he sucked out against Brian Rast? I wouldn't mind catching quad 3's on the river against a nut flush. Sheesh.
@AScheeser
@AScheeser 9 жыл бұрын
+Derek Castillo That wasn't really "sucking out". He did have a decent hand with a set of 3s and he bet it on the turn (which almost everyone would do). Now Rast tried to trap Trickett by slow-playing the nut flush (which also makes a lot of sense) and flat called giving Trickett a free river card to catch up which he did. If Rast had gone all-in on the turn and Trickett had called with the worse hand to then hit the winning 3 on the river, that would have been sucking out.
@_SjB_
@_SjB_ 8 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure he did look at the river before shipping it in as he "knew" that Brian Raast had the nut flush.. lol..
@maximus0307
@maximus0307 9 жыл бұрын
he got so lucky he should have been out, he had a 3 of a kind againts a flush, and played half his stack, then the river came he got another 3, wich gave him a 4of akind the, he had maybe a 20% chance of winning and did.,.. He should have been out right there... in 9th place... and he played his last hand like a donkey when the show makes it sound like a smart move...

Every story of the worlds best poker players end up getting addicted to drugs and becoming broke and/or dead at early age. DO NOT GAMBLE.... period. Getting together with friends for 5 bucks is the extent to which you should indulge.
@domais68
@domais68 9 жыл бұрын
I completely disagree. Most poker players end up just fine. If you enjoy gambling, go right ahead and have fun. Just don't get carried away and risk more than you can comfortably afford. Drink and philander carefully too.

I was responding to someone that said that gambling led to either death, drug addiction or going broke. That is simply not true.
