Here's Episode 2 of High Street Histories, the second in the ten-part series of illustrated conversations between Ivan Bunn and Dean Parkin. Travelling back in time to explore Lowestoft's historic High Street, Ivan and Dean share stories about the buildings and shops found there, past and present.
This second installment tells the history of the town's forgotten vicarage - which once stood at the top end of the High Street - and revisits a nearby row of buildings where in 1897 you'd have found Howard Bunn's tobacconist shop.
All episodes of High Street Histories have an accompanying worksheet, ideal for young people age 5-11, which can be downloaded from the Think Lowestoft website: www.thinklowestoft.co.uk
Filmed, created and edited by Dean Parkin, the series features archive photographs from Ivan Bunn, The Jack Rose Collection, The Bert Collyer Collection.
