ikr, I use a Legion XIV Edition, slapped two flights of Longbows and two Cyclone Reapers on it and bum rush the enemy. Point defense cleans up anything nasty and armor eats bullets for days.

LEGEND NEVER DIES a problem I have with my onslaught XIV is that if I get to the point where I’m almost at overload I don’t have enough dissipation due to my 6x Vulcans and flak trying to destroy the swarms of Reapers and Sabots so I’m essentially flux-locked until my Conquest/Aurora comes over to take the Aggro

If you're in the late stage of the game and you're slowly driven crazy by the fact that every single pirate attack fleet that's pestering your delicate, freshly founded size 2 colony is retreating from you and it's a pain in the area around your musculus gluteus maximus to fight them since it takes several turns of harassing their retreat until their low combat readiness has made them slow enough for your cruisers to catch up with them in battle, you clearly don't own at least 9 Tempests with 2 Pulse Lasers and a one-time Reaper-class torpedo launcher, three of which are commanded by lvl 20 reckless officers who have nothing but offensive skills and who tear through the enemy's line of auxiliary ships like a pack of wild, rabid wolves once you give the "Full Assault" command to the point you'd lose at least 25 reputation points with all civilized factions and gain about 10 with the Luddic Path if a deeper faction interaction and a proper reaction to commiting war crimes was implemented in the game.

Tempests should cost 0 DP to deploy, they are clearly underpowered.

Tempests certainly are underpowered now that high-energy focus got replaced with terminator sequence. AI keeps spamming terminator sequence, throwing the drones away for nothing, then gets absolutely annihilated because of having no point defense.

Tempests receive a damage boost to their energy weapons. In addition, he's using ships with built in weapons that specifically stun enemy ships. So, he spammed Tempests with Energy weapons alongside said stunner ships.

I remember when I first destroyed a pirate ship outside of tutorial. It was flagship Mule with 2 D-Modules, while I piloted a grand theft'd Enforcer with one D-Module. My primary strategy of defeating a ship would consist of several attacks with light ballistic and energy weaponry, then, when enemy's shield fries or he decides to vent flux I bombard him with my 4 Swarmers

Oh yeah to all newbies, if you want to use this tactic (it's not practical but it's fun) ... I tried and I ended up with 10 of my ships being Atlas Cargo ships... as they will eat your supply like there's no battle afterwards. I made an even practically worse fleet afterwards thanks to No Such Org mod: ALL PHASE SHIPS. High Tech + Phase, say goodbye to your wallet and supplies but it's hilarious for Smuggler/Pirate runs as no faction can detect you. The power of -864 Sensor Profile.
