Isnt fun getting old?? Sorry to hear about your back pain been there myself many times, after 40 yrs in the building trades, still find it difficult to sleep on my back, thats just my back have problems with my shoulders , my knees, ankles etc... Your doing what I recommend most to do relax, get a little exercise, drink plenty of fluids stay hydrated!! Keep up with the program, your doing great!!

Yours was the 1st KZbin fishing video I ever watched and I love it. Glad to see you've DIVORCED Little Debbie. She's just a pain in your back. I'm 6'3" (65 years old) and we share a similar body type. I weighed 320 in April, today I weigh 250. Drink 8oz. of water a day (Nothing more) and stop eating until you lose 40 pounds and it will SHOCK YOU how much better you will feel and move! Don't wait until you're 65 like me. Nice vid, Sir. That back pain is a rough. I herniated some disks and pinched a bunch of nerves. Had to have surgery when I was 15. A weight lifting accident. So I've had plenty of time to figure out how to manage the pain :) Hope you get to feeling better brother! Great video

We are not 100 percent sure as it happened fairly quickly, but a squatting accident. I must have leaned to far forward. I was 15 so its hard to tell lol.. I just tried to dump the bar in front of me after I started falling forward.. didn't work well 😕

What a beautiful release, we got a 10lb this morning, been trying for weeks nothing on gill or cut. Gave up switched to angling for bass, pike, walleye, and sauger, and then caught the flathead on a jig and twister. Nuts

Dave, I know you got a birthday coming up this month and your back is acting up but I don’t think you need the double handed retrieve em in the boat yet , but I’ll tell you how us old codgers do it. When your fish is in the net lay your fishing pole parallel to the net pole and lift them both in at the same time. It makes you look stronger and keeps all your gear in line. Give it a try.

You should use flat weights, especially in current. Here in MO. we use flat weights in current situations. When I fished the James in VA. they used 13 oz flat weights they would wear you out but huge Blues.

Remember how quick the chicken liver was hit ?? try putting a couple of chicken livers in an old nylon ladies stocking . tie a knot in it right close to the liver and cut it off and put that on you're hook then put another knot in the cut off end so you can use the nylon again. Good luck Pappy

Noticed after you stopped anchor fishing "no more flatheads" why is that. I fish a lot just for flatheads and when I get bored I start dragging baits and all I catch is blues. Why is it so hard to catch flatheads on plainer boards or dragging baits??

Dave, me and my friends keep saying you need to go OG and bank fish because that’s what we do and not to many people KZbin bank fishing .Hope ya do 👍and that boat is not good for a bad back .I know I have had back pain and surgery problems for 10 years and I had to quit the boat scene.As the doc said “YOU NEED STABLE GROUND AND WAVE MOVEMENT CAUSES YOUR SPINE TO SHIFT.”
