This is the best build I have ever seen. The layout is perfect. I like the fact that you don’t make your children sleep on the couch while you have a bedroom. I like your “bedroom” though. It is private when you need it to be. I never understood why people couldn’t build a bus or whatever RV, with enough electrical power. This is the first one I have seen where you can run an AC unit while having other appliances going. It is worth the money to me, to have power when I need it. The kitchen is perfect. I agree with an other comment that most kitchens are to big for the space. You make it work. That is all it matters. This is the best bus, by far, that have seen. Safe travels.
@broccolibus69134 жыл бұрын
Thank you. We could have more space to play with if we opted out of having proper seating upfront. Safety measures such as appliances that are bolted down or metal framed walls to catch anything that could fly in an accident kinda sculpted our layout. We built our bus electrical to meet our needs from the cloudy Seattle area and also the heat of the south with ac needs.

I can see both view points and totally respect where you are coming from. The bunks are large twin size and they can fully sit up in them but that didn't translate well on the video. The wall section that the black back table folds out from blocks the views of each other when they are tucked in bed. Even when we had a large house with enough rooms they wanted to share bedrooms. We eventually plan on finding some land to buy when we figure out what state we like in the future. We are enjoying this time for now being able to travel and see things. The ever changing outdoors offer a lot of space when they need a break. They sit and enjoy the sun while painting or reading. Currently we are parked on a 250 acre farm in Oregon and they are playing in a little creek and planting gardens. Last Friday they were around our other bus friends in AZ with kids playing and having campfires. Life is more about adventures than living in a box. For now this works. The thought, design and execution of this incredible rolling home is second to none! Aaron, you've done a wonderful job creating a truly unique environment for you and your family. Amanda is surely grateful to have such a capable partner, as I'm sure you are to have a wife who shares a common vision while contributing her own set of talents and abilities. While we weren't able to observe much about life with kids, road schooling, etc., in this video, it would seem that y'all have that well in hand. Best wishes for continued success from the road.

I’d love a more in-depth into how the electrical system works, converting those batteries to be charged over solar and dropped to 12v is impressive

The batteries are set up for a 48 volt (56 volt nominal) system. Each module has a 3.0 to 4.2 volt range. They're set up 7 in parallel then 14 in series.

I get more and more excited when I see videos like this. The Pandemic has opened my eyes more to what is REALLY IMPORTANT. It is just my husband and I and we have family and friends spread out across the US. I really feel like this is a move to consider. Thank you so much for showing the details of what you created for yourself and your family.

As a technologist one is just blown away by the ingenuity and build quality. Yet, at the same time when talking about "needing less", there is a lot "more" that is in here than what is needed in a fixed dwelling. Yet, very very cool. Kudos all around!

Think about what you depend on in a fixed dwelling, and carry it all with you. It's about the same.

@@wellcraft19 If you haven't seen the movie "Nomadland" I'd highly recommend it. They filmed portions of it near us while we've been out in the desert, and in fact, we've traveled nearly the same route that the character does in the movie once or twice. The point is that vehicle living, as adults, is different than having passengers with you in life. It's true that truly "needing less" is a very condensed living arrangement. With kids on the road, and the objectives we set to expand our scope of the world, it is often about "living sparse" more so than living less.
