I simply have not built any more machines that need something special. Mill is running fine using LinuxCNC 2.8 on Buster, lathe is still on Wheezy/2.7, both are still going strong. Nothing to do on the LinuxCNC side of things, so ending up visiting the forum less and less frequently. I did use LinuxCNC on a Pi for my first 3D printer and swapped to Duet as an experiment since I wanted to experience 'the 3D printer controller' myself. Then I found out that matching the printing quality and ease of use provided by the Duet would be hard with LinuxCNC, although those 3D printer controllers still lack some features I could really use such as the HAL, screw mapping and backlash compensation.
