Sometimes tides can make a difference but it depends on the situation and area you're fishing at. I've caught Halibuts with different techniques and sometimes it doesn't always work. That's just motivation for you to keep trying new things. Thanks for the knowledge that you always share on your videos and keep up the good work. Tight lines brotha🤙🎣

Hi Leon, wow that's a big move. Safe travels and blessings on the entire process. While I can't promise anything, I do my best to fish with as many supporters as I can with the limited time I have. I don't do it often, but I do my best. KIT and who knows, maybe it can happen some day down the road!

No worries man. I fish for summer flounder from the beach all the time in nj. It seems to be the same as what you do. We just don’t use the lucky crafts.

It might be too heavy, I have some heavy rods as well but Benjie just hooked me up with a Phenix rod I won in a raffle he ran for channel supporters, it is insanely light and has more ‘backbone’ than my heavy rods. I really can’t explain how light the thing is, by far the best rod I own now.
@BenjieKimFishing3 жыл бұрын
Thanks brotha!! AlohaMilton might be right...if the rod and/or reel is too heavy, you're gonna feel it for sure. Last year I was using a mismatched combo of a 4k Daiwa Saltist and a G.Loomis salmon steelhead rod and while the rod was plenty light, the reel was WAAAY too heavy for me. I was catching fish but within the first hour, my arms/shoulders were done.

would really appreciate it if you could answer this... im trying to get some video with my GoPro fishing... but wanted to know.. when do you turn your GoPro on and off.. like every 2 casts turn it off and start another vid.. or do u record the whole time? and do you bring extra batteries ?? plz lemme know.. just not sure what to do..
@BenjieKimFishing3 жыл бұрын
Hey brotha, I'm always experimenting and changing things up so much to say here lol. I try to keep my GoPro running the entire time. I do turn it off when walking or changing things up on the rig. I used to bring like 7 batteries with me and that was always more than enough to get through a session. The past year I've been running an external battery (no internal battery as that seems to overheat the GoPro) and a 3rd party housing mod that keeps the GoPro semi sealed. This has been the best for me as I can run it pretty much all day and I have plenty of juice. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding this and I'm happy to try and help.

So since the whole OC fishery is closed from the oil spill until at least the end of November, where are you fishing? Also I need help on finding some cool fishing spots please
@BenjieKimFishing3 жыл бұрын
Hey there, I fish a lot of SD county. Please don't take my word for it but I believe Long Beach is open for fishing. I don't specify spots but if you want to email me, I'm happy to point you in the right direction. Tight lines.

High tide, low tide... Don't mater as much as you already Said.. Structure. And a adjustment of tackle.

Agreed Rolando. You just touched on the most critical aspects of finding success. At least imo. Adjust and calibrate what you mentioned and odds in our favor.

tides matter more for bass than halibut in my experience....when boat fishing i prefer high tide, shore or jetty fishing for halibut I prefer low tide. Structure is the most important imo.
