I built one the exact same a few months ago. And same thing, didn't get the enameled wire cleaned off properly. I did test the output against my leg.......it bloody hurt! Question about your recording Kris. Is the audio recorded via two mics? I normally watch on a computer with external speakers. When you're talking and doing stuff, the audio goes up and down on the left and right, kinda like you are moving between mics.

Nice you could have make it better by focusing the camera on what you were doing with the circuit and components. Also you were expected to explain polarity and pin directions of the components.
