Love the North Fork Payette. I live not too far from it and always observing kayak and rafts going down roadside on the 55 drivingy up to McCall, ID. Respect to those of you that run it. The Red Bull Challenge is usually held there and kayakers from all over the world attend. I have floated the South Fork Payette which is no where near as intense as this.

Absolutely outrageous. How you didn't backender on some of those higher peaks I'll never know. Nice rescue in major V water too. Looks like a great place to get flush drowned at levels like that.

I was watching, and said, I wonder if a C-1 runs (can run) this very often, and then, the C-1 comes into view, and he looks awesome, and then he swims. As an old broken down C-1er, I am sad.

There's a pretty savage video of a a c1 getting the piss beat out of him in nutcracker at 5.5k. This swim sucks but I honestly don't know how homie is still alive after the nut

Did you get that guy's boat and paddle back? I was saying to myself right before he swam, "that C-1er has a bomber roll." Which he did roll twice right before he swam. That rapid is just too big to be rolling that many times in a row. The North Fork is definitely out of my league. I think the New River Gorge is big still 😂.

Then take a raft trip. The NFP ain't no place to start learning how to kayak. At least certainly not a the levels in this video. Might as well be learning how to mountain climb on K2.

Quite possibly saved that C-1 boater from a flush drowning. Normal PFD's just aren't any guarantee at all in water like that.

Captain Sir I'll bet there are a ton of excellent C-1 boaters who can get a blade in the water, on either side, faster than you can with 2 blades in a kayak.

This is a tough place to self rescue. I bet you couldn't do much better here.
@briand3837 Жыл бұрын
@@Michael65429 I am in my 60's and still would feel confidant swimming to shore but would possibly ditch the boat. We used to flip our boats and ride them to shore, good flotation. That is deep water and very swimmable. It is not as challenging as a fast shallow rocky river, those are abusive. I just wouldn't have that look of fear on my face and would get the job done.
@paulherring8959 Жыл бұрын
@@briand3837 Awful lot of bravado for a guy who's probably never swam big continuous water. I can tell you that water that big will jam you down under so many times you won't know what's up and what's down and breathes will come few and far between.
