I think this video does a nice job showing people exactly why they need to take the White Mountains seriously if they plan to hike them. The weather can become insane and it varies a ton from the trailhead to the summits above tree line in all seasons. I've heard and read so many stories of improperly prepared hikers that get into trouble in those mountains - I find it amazing that more people aren't killed.

Awesome video. You guys are beasts! I am so impressed with you guys hiking in 30 degree weather and 60-100 mph winds!!! This was more intense then I would be willing to go, but it made for a THRILLING video. Don't worry about not completing the loop...you guys are awesome for just BEING out there for a few days! Gorgeous South Twin view on Day 2. What you said at 32:20 was hilarious - you said it with such a straight face! I can't believe you left so much trace in the snow. I'm surprised at you. Thanks for sharing! :D

done a-lot of winter camping in the whites and its always a challenge. My winter pack weighed 60 pounds not counting water. Put on a pair of snow shoes and hike up Mt. Washington via Central Gully, wind blowing so hard if you faced it you cant exhale, turn your back to it and it sucks the wind from your lungs, Good times man. Keep up the great work.

One of my favorite Sintax77 videos. The coffee talk after packing up, classic! Then the "hardcore leave no tracers" talk and the "Shaddupp" at 45:29 Funny stuff! I'm in Southern California, we don't see snow as heavy or as cold. You and Mike are animals.

@@sintax77 Thanks Shawn! Very dimechange indeed. Franconia acts like a mini Washington and throws all the air right up making for very unstable conditions most of the time. @TheHiddenWoodsmen10 жыл бұрын
sintax77 i have done half the loop (mt bond, south twin, etc side ). i plan on doing the full loop this june. if you go in late may there is still to much ice and snow on mt Garfield to get over it with out the right gear, but in june it should be passable.

malcolm the wilderness hiker Good looking out. I love snow trips, but I'd really like to revisit for a full Pemi when it's nice and warm and really crush it with a lighter load-out.

sintax77 i have read if you just stick to the main loop its like 33 miles for 8 mountains.there is a couple of trails to reach a few other peaks like west bond but that will add more miles . NH is my favorite place to hike. but i am limited cause i havent been backpacking out side of new england. i live in southern MA. you should check out the bold coast in Maine. its a nice hike along the coast.

dmith smith Yeah, it was definitely warmer at times than I would have anticipated. Not bad, I just wish it stayed a little below freezing to keep that rain from getting us on night 1 - which froze solid over night of course, lol.

sintax77 Ya, rain and cold can make things really interesting and deadly to the unprepared...The White's may not be big mountains but they have crazy weather that can be worse and more extreme than any other place on earth...on way more than one occasion I have stopped on the trail and been like..
