It’s a shame but yes I would never install one as delivered.

Hey Chris... Please do a follow-up video of the sanding and polishing of this playfield. I have two CPR's that I would like to re-clear, so seeing your process would be very helpful. Thanks

I’ve had two playfields from Mirco last year a T.Z that one was cleared after it was cut and drilled and is holding up well, the TAF I’m working on now was drilled and cut after it was cleared. At the time I ordered these no other company had them in stock. The choice we have is no choice. I’m in a small group of people that use him and are all saying no more from Mirco. You make it look so easy to correct the issues, why won’t Mirco do it, it’s just crazy business sense.

Chris - They just need to have you redesign their manufacturing and QA process. 😂 I’m glad that they rushed you a replacement playfield in a week to make it right.

There are probably better suited people to do that but I seriously doubt they need any help. They know what truly works but don’t like or can’t do it. Routing,Screen printing followed by sealing(clearcoat of some type)was the superior way. It was happening before I was born. I did get another so that’s at least better off than I was 🤔

I recall one title from CPR..may have been TZ or WW, where they didn't cut the shooter lane channel long enough.

I think it was Medusa. I remember doweling one out. WW had an issue where the slot for the shooter lane switch wasn’t cut too.

I have two playfields from CPR... Wizard! and Capt. Fantastic. I'll leave my rant about mistakes, rollover inserts, and paint colors for another time. Anywho, both of them have piss-poor shooter lanes that are too wide, too shallow, and too short, so the ball just 'floats' in the lane instead of being held. I'm trying to decide if I want to just leave them as-is and cut a slot (like on this TZ playfield), or have a full length lane cut to match the original Bally lane. Either way I'll have it done by a local CNC shop as I'm not equipped to do the job right. After that I'll re-clear them because what's on there now is very thin.

I find it crazy that you need to do extra work on a brand new playfield (that you paid good money for)! Hopefully they adopt your simply but very effective fix.

Great info! What brand of automotive clear are you using ?

Bummer to not know, not all clears “get along well” and adhere to each other.

When you want to clear are there some machines that have such a thin clear originally that you have to touch them up before clearing?

I really wonder if he does this all the time or just in this TZ example. I mean come on, its 100% clear and obvious what you are pointing out. I'm no expert in such topics but to me it's just common sense that you clear at the end and not before cutting and drilling it.
