There’s this conversation between NCTzens that they can’t really remember the song after first time listened to it but the “hey we ballin” chores. I watched some explanations about it from other video reactors and just netizen’s comments. They said there’s basically nothing repetitive in this song except the “hey we ballin” that repeats consistently but still always develops too (the second chores truncated, and the second pre chorus is also cut in half), there’s always something new, things pop up here and there (a lot of interesting instruments), and its hard to even breakdown the structure of the whole song. Its kinda confusing BUT that’s what make it interesting. That is NCT. They’re always experimental, eccentric, unusual, push the boundaries. People used to call their sound as “NCT’s noises”. Now that I’ve listened to it several times, I found its so oddly pleasing, its definitely on repeat bc I never really heard something like this. I stan an intellectual!! The singer with black hair is DoYoung and I love him too. To me his vocals are the signature vocals of NCT. It is incredibly difficult to classify this song into a particular genre, besides just "experimental." Like other comments have stated, many fans have a hard time remembering this song & how it goes outside of the lyric, "hey we ballin'." It's this constantly evolving mosaic of sounds, from EDM to synth wave to maybe future bass, to the basics of kpop: pop hip hop & r&b. They really pushed the boundaries of what a Kpop song could be with this track.

So glad you enjoyed this one, as it confused quite a few people. Once, when talking to my husband, I described 127 (I call them that as well) as the most unconventional Kpop group out there. It’s also cool that you’re starting to appreciate the individual members: Doyoung (your fave) is a fantastic vocalist, and Taeil (tomato red hair) is also wonderful. My favorite is Jungwoo (Mr. Smooth-On-The-Vocals, he wore the “tiger jacket” in “Work It”); his upper register is a thing of beauty. And of course Taeyong (reddish-pink hair here) and Mark (dark brown hair) are a great rap combo. As others have mentioned, it’s Doyoung’s 25th birthday tomorrow (in Korea they add a year), but if you really want to feel old, Justin Timberlake turned 40 today.

I would suggest PLT - hocus pocus or igoholic for more k hip hop sounds. Also I would suggest the k-artists DEAN, crush, junny or jay park for more k r&b! there's way more than just the kpop scene or "idol" music. I will keep suggesting them LOL. Punch is definitely more of an underrated title track by NCT, same with superhuman. I actually didn't mind punch, but a lot of nctzens thought it was forgettable lol.
