HIGHEST DAMAGE Ash of War in Elden Ring? Marais Executioner's Sword No Hit Run

The Bell Bearing Hunters Greatsword makes for one of the most unique builds in all of Elden Ring and does surprisingly well... This run is part of a challenge I'm doing to complete multiple different no-hit runs with weapons that my viewers request. I am trying to complete all 40 that have been requested before 2023. So far, 38 of 40 runs have been done in the last 8 weeks.

Rules: Complete the game while not taking any staggers or damage from enemies or traps. Environmental or self hits/damage are allowed, including fall damage. There is a required death at the beginning of the game which is not counted as a hit because it is needed for progression.

I wish Eochaid’s Dancing Blade let you use more of Elemer’s unique moves. Like, activating EDB normally does the drilling attack, but hitting light/heavy attack does one of his other telekinetic slashes.

There's 26 trick weapons in bloodborne, that includes DLC weapons and doesn't include guns or other off-hand weapons. Two of those weapons have alternate move sets when equipped with a special rune from the DLC. The rune combos are as follows, Milkweed Rune with the Kos Parasite, and the Beast's Embrace rune with the Beast Claw. While yes that is a significantly lower number of weapons than in a souls game/elden ring, There isn't a single copy-cat weapon like there is in the souls/elden games. The copy-cat weapons are cut because you can alter the damage of any weapon in Bloodborne with bloodgems. So you could take a physical damage weapon and make it venom, poison, fire, magic, or blood damage, so there's a ton of ways to build around different uses for the same weapon.

The "less weapons" argument never made sense to me. As if there are people out there who level up and try out every single iteration of a short sword and then rejoice over the fact that this exact same moveset is on the 400th, slightly different looking sword. Bloodborne is universally considered one of the best souls games for a reason. "I can't level up 5 different greatswords" isn't really valid criticism, it's the same type of weak excuse people used to hate on Sekiro the instant it was clear there were no conventional weapon upgrades.

No hitting for the Marais sword is the most impressive thing to me. I hate that damn Briar boss. Props man. Eochaids dancing blade should have been like Sword of Night and Flame. It would be way cool to have the spin as an R2 and the throwing blade attack as an R1 or something.

@@quemf222 yeah, but that involves going all the way to the haligtree and fighting her sisters, a lot could’ve gone wrong. You can just get Millicent’s Prosthesis earlier, and it can stack with the regular Winged Sword Insignia where the Rotton can’t stack with it.

Fighting Elmer took me forever, I finally learned that when you go close when he does his ranged swipes and circle behind him you won’t get hit. The rest of his attacks were very telegraphed, he also almost does a shield slam when you hit from behind, so after I figured those things out, it was pretty easy. But seeing how easily you demolish everything is insane. This is my first souls game and oh man I am stuck on Radahn, whenever I watch one of your runs, it seems like the bosses attack slower than they do for me. But that’s only because you know exactly what to do all the time which is so crazy that you have gained the ability to translate your thoughts into actions instinctively.

Some of the Buffs I've seen him use are Howl of Shabriri (incantation) Flame Grant me strength (incantation) Golden Vow (incantation/ash of war) Seppuku (ash of war) Bloody slash (ash of war)

you have to be careful though because some of these buffs overwrite others. golden vow is an aura buff and FGMS is a body buff. Since howl of shabriri is also a body buff, it doesnt stack with FGMS and the last one you cast will override the other. physick buffs are compatible with everything except for the regen but you dont need that in nohit runs.

@@Sho-po4ybvow stacks with either, FGMS is shorter and buffs less damage but it has less faith requirements and you dont take extra damage, i would recommend flame + vow for a normal run. if you really want to boost your damage to the max you could also use lord of blood talisman + white mask and seppuku, then kindred of rot talisman + mushroom crown and meat dumplings, but imo its a bit overkill. ritual sword talisman is a safer bet and easier to use

Random thought for a run (apologies if you already did it or are otherwise not interested): any time you kill a boss, anything you used during the setup or active fight is locked out for the rest of the run. Your weapon? Sell it. Your talisman? Sell it. The sorcery/incantation you used for a buff? Mark down that it's not available. The wondrous flask? Any tears in it are marked down as unavailable. Used a Weapon Art? Gone. (your choice on whether or not you can "buy" extra uses of a Weapon Art by making copies via Lost Ashes). Drank from a flask of tears? Max flasks -1 (realistically this just means "you fail the run if your total flasks fall below whatever value"). Not sure whether to give consumables free reign since by definition they're gone when you use them or restrict them in some way, so dealer's choice - whichever you think would make it more interesting.

i made an eochaids dancing blade build because of this vid i was able to get to 16.9k damage in one go of the skill against the halberd golem outside the grand lift of dectus. I one shotted it and one of the tree sentinals outside the capital outskirts as well

You might not see this but with the sword there is a tear that gives damage boost on consecutive hits and the Ash of war is classified as losts of hits ( on my build I do 16k damage without buff spells)

The regalia does only slightly less damage, is easier to use since it's lighter and faster as a straight sword, power stancing straight swords is op, and it's easier to get.

I think because killing the deathbird without said pots is very risky. Since the item the bird drops is very much needed for the run it should be allowed as he has claimed items with other weapons before. All rememberance bosses listed on the side are the goal which he must kill with the sword, anything else doesnt matter too much.

@@acertekin basically, he joined late and started to use a route with bloodhound step, since spamming the weapon art (before it was nerfed) was actually faster than sprint speed. This route ended up being a tonne faster than the currently used routes, so the top runners at the time were annoyed at the use of bloodhound step since they didnt all want to have to massively reroute after running their routes for a month. I can't remember what exactly happened at the end, whether BHS was banned or everyone rerouted, but i know that that tourney was a mess overall due to being managed very poorly, and the winners didnt even get paid for months (one of the top 2 only got their money a few days before this video was being streamed i believe, and the tourney was about 8 months ago i think).

Honestly, I'm all for banning stupidly repetitive nonsense that isn't difficult or complicated and just serves to shave off like 10 seconds at the end. Doesn't make runs more interesting and is annoying for runners, too.
