They're a great console! They've gone above and beyond their expectations. It deserves it's flowers just like all the other consoles.

They do get some nice games this late in the life cycle. However there is a big but, if you can play any of these games on a different system, that's probably the better way to go. Ys X Nordics suffers from really bad draw distance and pop in, other games have some really bad loading times. As much as i anticipate some of these games before release, i've been disappointed a lot in 2024 in the Switch versions

I was having troubles building on my Sims. I solve the issue for me by using my left thumb on the right stick and found that it makes building much easier and natural. That also frees up your right thumb to press the buttons.

Absolutely loving nine sols and metal slug tactics but speaking of the latter, I’ve been experiencing quite a lot of bugs both small and game breaking……really hope the devs keep updating it because it needs a good few patches. Great vid guys

Nine Sols looks really interesting. Also it's great that Ys X has more of the feel of Ys 8, I had no real interest in Ys IX at all, maybe if I can ever find the physical on sale I'll change my mind.

A great game but a buggy mess, can't be completed in handheld.

@@Retroman__ll Yeah, the game will crash upon starting the second mission in the city level. You have to dock the switch, start the level and then you can take it out. Although annoying, not nearly as bad as the 10 fps jungle level. A real shame as there's a great game under the bugs.

"Which of these games did you pick up?" - nothing so far: I am disappointed about MySims with its ridiculous price and questionable controls (based on your review). Nine Sol is on my wishlist, same as Stray which could be something for my daughter (together with MySims) She is a probable participant for anger management lessons due to exposure to Mario Party Jamboree - nothing breaks up families so smoothly...

Between paper mario, brothership and mario rpg we had so many (too many...) turn base, compared to action plateformers , but for the ppl who loved odyssey the mario serie really ddnt deliver imo and same with kirby....plus in almost 10 y??? That s really disappointing for action and fast pace combat fans who also like plateformers.

Totally agree about Teal Lotus, too many platforming with very few checkpoints which makes it really annoying beside the nice design. (I ended up activating the godmod 😅, but still managed to enjoy the story though)

It had some tough points, but by the end I have to imagine most players that stuck with it were flying through that tower dungeon. It was tough, but not unreasonable.

I preordered Dragon Quest III but wasn't very impressed, although I played the GBC version. I guess I got used to the more modern approach of Dragon Quest XI.

I never really liked random battles (even when it was all we had back in the day). Forcing people to deal with them in 2024 just doesn't sit right with me.

I played 50+ hours on Ys VIII (on the switch thinking bout buying it for the ps5 and try again) and got bored. Changing Danas outfit every other mob was annoying. The map system was also annoying. When you go to a area it says to go to but get there because you have to figure out this map maze. Ys IX was soooo much better. Easier to navigate more enthralled by the story and the 2 Adols had me pushing thru to the end. And the special abilities were very helpful. The map didn't suck! Not sure im going to like Nordis. Im not a fan The ship stuff. I feel like id get lost with all these stupid islands. Still will try tho.

I see all these great games, and I know I already have a huge pile of shame so I really don’t want to buy any more. I’m well into middle age and have next to zero time to play games and I’m sitting here thinking I wish there was more time. Life is short. It seems to flash by so fast. 2024 has been great for games and I have to choose which ones I play wisely.

@@SwitchUpYt I didn’t like that you couldn’t leave the area until a certain chapter. I felt it forced the player to do side quests in order to move forward. I’m on chapter 6 in YS 9 and I really don’t feel I can keep going. Lol! I’m not feeling it.

Your first review of Ys 10 was more on point I think. It has so many downgrades compared to 8 and 9 - Generic designs, no enemy variety, frustratingly easy, awful level design with few and small linear levels with bad platforming, invisible walls everywhere, no visuals for new weapons, no other playable characters... Padded with a cheap sailing ship overworld and endless unvoiced banter. 8 and 9 are both masterpieces by comparison. 10 feels incredibly low budget. A re-review of Ys 9, thats what you should've done really
