I was born in Hong Kong 1948 those were the good old days. Our family immigrated to San Francisco 1966. Missed British Hong Kong!

I lived in HK just a few years after the Handover, so we have good friends there. Back in 2019 a friend told me that his parents had told him: back then, we were happy the British left, now we’d wish we were still British. Update: another friend told me”we were not free either but things were better, much better”
