When I married my lovely wife in 1996 my brother organized the Drum Major and Pipe Major of the RSDG to play in the church for us. I had no idea and it immediately brought a tear to my eyes. I was not expecting this in a German church!!! This tune always brings a tear and reminds me of how splendid this life and the world around us is!!!

I looked over to the front of the car & saw it was Highland Cathedral he told me it's on you tube. It's absolutely beautiful. Thank you Aidan Davis I've listened to it several times today

Sir Rod Stewart once sang 'And the swirling pipes, how they make a grown man cry'. That sums this version superbly:from the single pipes and drum, to the mass the addition and entrance of the rest of the band, the other instruments, the crescendo and the tempo, and simply the filming and framing of it- all in an historical and well known cathedral. Perfection. My goosebumps have goosebumps.

Several years ago my brother and sister-in-law lived in Dunblane. We passed the church on a walk round the area, but did not enter the church. At that time I was not aware of Highland Cathedral, but found it on a DVD I purchased. A young Scot was playing his bagpipes on Westminster Bridge in 2014. I asked him did I hear him playing that tune. He said yes and played it again for me. Naturally worth more than a gold coin donation! Semi-retired and living in PICTON, South Island, New Zealand.

Land of our fathers, we will always be Faithful and loyal to our own country. In times of danger, we will set you free. Lead you to glory and to vic....tory. ... Hail, Caledonia, to our ancient prayer. In this Highland Cathedral, let our standards, bear. Joining, together, with one dream to share. God bless the people of this land so fair. Gone is the past, let us start anew. Let this hope of peace, always remain. Spirit of Scotia, be strong and true. Then your children will smile again. ... Rise, Caledonia, let your voices ring In this Highland Cathedral of our God and King. Whom, joy and liberty, to all, will bring. Come; let your heart, with love and courage, sing. Whom, joy and liberty, to all, will bring. Come; let your heart, with love and cou........rage, sing.
