This was awesome, thank you both so much for the shout outs! Nothing like those old school HPs. This one definitely has a ton of that tangerine/mandarin/Heather-honey/minerality to it, just wish the finish was bigger lol. Fun fact: Highland Park used to rest a small bed of Heather flowers on top of the peat while it was in the kiln, hence the floral-nectar aromas! Ps. You gotta have a big ass nosing glass 😂

Nice review again of one HP I haven't tried...I have to say about the ones I tried including old school ones I never had such a fruitiness you are describing here (& as usual with some old stuff, the nose is superior to the palate. I suppose that this is were the OBE takes over, but you'll never know...). Thanks for sharing these rare moments...

Wow a 90 score. So glad you did this old import HP 12 yr. When Narbie does his reviews, I see the old distillery release HP 18's in the background and have always wanted one. I see these old HP 12's at auction, so now I will try to bid on these as well. Do you know personally if the "Distillery Release" 12 yr bottles from the 80's or 90's taste good as well? I'm assuming the abv is 40% since you didn't mention it? Great review.

Yes you will love this one but keep in mind the import and dumpy style bottle. Yes they do and this is a distillery bottle but for the Italian market. 43% abv. Thanks bud!!

we have been doing daily research for about 15 years now, online, auctions, other enthusiasts so after some time you get some knowledge but we are still learning daily.
