That is a very very good attitude to have towards alcohol. I personally always felt afraid of alcohol and so I never even tried a zip throughout my teenage years, even though everybody else started drinking at the age of 16. Since I am 20 I have occasionally tried different things when the time felt right, but haven't found something I like yet. But I am always willing to learn and try new things. I can only encourage you to take the time you need and not to feel pressured to try anything at all. Try it when the time is right, when you are in a surrounding that feels safe for you. There is no need to feel afraid, as long as you are careful and responsible! (:

I wouldn't call it 99% perfect. He has no idea how cristallino tequila is made and makes up some steel barrel bs. He thinks nikka coffey grain is distilled from coffee (instead of using Coffey Still, not even the same word). He called Kraken a dark rum, where in reality it is a barely aged, spiced rum, that is colored a dark color. Not what a dark rum actually is. Plenty of other things I can nitpick. He's charismatic, and the video is great for an absolute noob, but he's also spreading misinformation.

Great video, and thank you for not perpetuating the (incorrect) myth that "bourbon has to come from Kentucky" because that simply isn't true. One thing though, the Nikka Coffey Grain Japanese whisky isn't made from coffee, the name comes from the type of still (a Coffey still, there are only like 3 left in operation worldwide I believe) that it's made in. And the "grain" part of the name is a reference to the fact that it's made predominantly of grain (as opposed to their Nikka Coffey Malt, which is made predominantly from malted barley, which IMO isn't as good as the Coffey Grain).

Great job breaking down the liquors and liqueurs. The one thing that the COVID pandemic has done it to get people drinking more, at least it has for me. It's good to know the basic and distinguishing traits. Keep educating us, homeboy! Looking forward to seeing what video you "come behind" with next!

This is amazing, I've been following your channel for a long time and not knowing much about alcohol, this is the perfect place to start, you're so entertaining and it's just to much better than anything else I've seen, cheers!

Fantastic video. Been bartending for a year but started at a new cocktail heavy bar and this video is exactly what I needed. Thank you. You earned a sub :)

Finally a good video from you John, it's been a long time since you posted something good. Love this video. Miss your old videos of drink making back from 2012 and earlier. To bad you took them down

I liked the use of classical music in the bg. For instance 2:19. Overall. Great to watch🎉
