this place could use some revitalization, but the question is if that's done, will they have the people to buy the property, sad to see those nice old building rotting, when they could be turned into gorgeous condos again who would buy them. Thanks for showing us these places.

I grew up in highland park in the 70's went to cortland elementary...it was so beautiful back them the library, and the streets and homes were well tended. in the late 90's and early 2000's i lived at the NORMANDIE HOTEL. Im just glad I did my little time in the NAVY....to now call NORFOLK,VIRGINIA HOME. You just dont see this AMOUNT OF BLIGHT here. Matter of fact the ratio of Nice neighborhoods here is 80/20.

Highland park Michigan is a toss up between Gary Indiana and Camden nj and Chester pa and pine bluff Arkansas and flint Michigan and parts of Detroit and East Cleveland Ohio all in a package to see which goes to the moon 🌒 first . East Cleveland Ohio leads the pact so far 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

The Woodward/McNichols area had several Old Vaudeville houses (on Woodward Ave.) In the Early Seventies, they...along with a Bank...were converted to XXX movie theaters. Vice predictably followed. This was similar to the Old Times Square, in Manhattan. A Lot of the Hookers were addicted to Heroin, and then Crack. The Chinese Man who was killed by the Bigoted unemployed White auto workers, had been in the Fancy Pants...a Bottomless Bar, with them, and the fight spilled out into the street. Later...the theaters closed, as the video market and internet allowed the consumption of Adult Fare from the comfort of our homes. There was less Vice afterwards...the neighborhood became too Hazardous even for THAT. I don't expect to see Disney or Starbucks down there anytime Soon.

Eeeeks...this suburb looks depressing due to the amount of abandoned buildings, horrible roads and the amount of open grassy areas where the houses used to sit.

That’s because Highland Park is an enclave suburb. Highland Park is surrounded by Detroit on all sides pretty much.
