I can't stand rust on my chain. I clean it after every ride(whether or not I wash the bike) then hit it with a coat of WD40 and I use Chain-Wax every couple of rides.

Why not turn the KX over with the kicker to check the valves? Don't have to remove the plug maybe. It still has one right?
