YZ 2 strokes need the air box area sealed off with weather stripping, ductape, whatever, from the rear wheel fender area in order to prevent excess ingestion of dust which overwhelms the air filter in dusty conditions... I also drill a few holes in the side covers each side to allow more airflow and less vacuum pressure trying to draw dust from the rear wheel fender area...

Used to use a TTR 230 some times for building single track! Best little bike ever! Easy to manage, get on and off, and railed in the tight trees lol.. Ps. The snap on tools like crack to a mechainic! Pss. Seen plenty of the stock plastic fiber pistons crack.. and that shock having red fluid makes me think it’s been serviced befor.

The shock must have been quite long without service. But of course you are right, the gas passes an o-ring for the same reason as in a bladder. Because its made out of rubber. It usually just takes a lot more time, as the bladder offers so much more surface to the gas to do diffusion. Diffusion heavily depends on bladder quality. Make sure you get proven stuff like OEM.

Among my bikes sits a ttr230 and after counter shaft sprocket, 130 main 38 pilot removed snorkel and baffle I love riding it

My experience and my dealer told me once when a 300 sits a while, tip it like you did and a charge of fuel will help it fire up easily.
