Highlight Duplicates in Excel in Same Column in a Different Colour

How do you highlight in a diferent color every duplicate values. So we fave 3 duplicates:apple,pear,banana.I want to have it colored with a diferent color.Every "apple" duplicate needs to be colored in red,every "pear" duplicate in blue...etc.Thank you in advance!

I think your formula is wrong if you need to use that method (and for ranges with >10k unique values, you might) - as it will only evaluate what is above that particular cell rather than the entire range. The range is the entire column of product ID's, the criteria is the product ID itself too. That way you can then filter the list - all 1's will not be duplicates, all >1 will be.

Great solution, but how can I prevent it from highlighting blank cells in the range? Blank cells are considered as duplicates as well.

Great info Chester. Tell me if I'm thinking this correctly. At 3:22, after I get the duplication results, if I sort the formula column ascending, I can delete the rows larger than "1" and will show only one occurrence of the cell. Basically deleting duplications. Right?
