I know this because when I moved to GA I got a new plate and put my old out of state plate frame on there, which partially covered them. I was pulled over and cited for it. If you look closely at the car loaded onto the truck, you'll observe that you can't see the year on the sticker. I'll bet all the tea in China that this guy did that on purpose.

Vermin will shelter under a vehicle in piles of leaves and litter. It encourages infestation. It looks dirty. Hot vehicles that park next to it can ignite the leaves with a hot muffler or catalytic converter. Renting does not mean you can run down a property. Reasonable use within the owners rules. Johnny, I would point out to people that if they don't like the apartment complex rules and regulations, rent a HOUSE instead! That way, they don't have to deal with the front office and tow truckers. Easy solution! And as you say, the drama is NEVER ending, but we as a member of your tow trucker family, enjoy seeing people make fools of themselves, but grateful we're NOT on the receiving end. Tow truckers hired to tow non-compliant vehicles from apartment complexes are towing at the direction of the apartment owner or apartment manager. In my opinion, the best way to handle these kind of vehicle parking problems is a provision or provisions in the lease agreement. Your lease entitles you to a certain number of parking spaces and the allowed vehicles must be registered with current tags. Otherwise, you get one warning and so many days to correct. Otherwise, you are in violation of your lease and subject to eviction. If you move in and are waiting on a tag, either get a temporary parking sticker good for so many days after which time it expires (if the apartment manager wants to be lenient) or find somewhere else to park until you can make your vehicle compliant. I used to live in apartments and I can tell you that once you link possible eviction with parking non-compliance, the problems decrease dramatically!

Don't know about Georgia laws, but here in Wisconsin the rules are very clear - the tags must be applied in specified locations only and can not be obscured from view. That truck would get a ticket for obscured plates.

The van is on the tow truck, that should be full price not the $100 drop fee. Anyone who keeps that piece of junk on the apartments property deserves to be pulled at full price. 4 cars for a single apartment is clearly misuse of the property. I would start pulling his other cars, he has to learn you can't have all those cars on property. It is obvious that these parking abusers don't read their lease, if they did they wouldn't be parking all those cars on someone elses property. The guy demand that johnny call the office, how are the tow truck drivers supposed to know your paperwork is in y9ur glove box. He is a hot head, wouldn't give him the cars back without a drop fee for each car. He thinks he will be reimbursed by apartment management, but again he needs to read his lease and be familiar with laws about no tags on ca4s. Now he is debating whether or not it is hooked, stop your nonsense and get your cars legally registered...tow trucker never forgets a car and will get it on the next r7n.
