100% agree with you refusing to tow that. I wouldn't have spent so long inspecting it after I had found enough to say no.

Looks like a well used but un-serviced van, possibly an ex circus accommodation unit. There was a clue on another c/van in the background. Definitely one that could have got you into a lot of trouble with the RTA and police. Thanks for sharing..

I noticed a sketchy load when I was with wife in car. “Let’s drive over and look, so I can show you red flags for me” I was 200 yards away. We drove around. I pointed out how badly overloaded it was. Not 3 days later I was asked to haul it 25 miles. I refused at start. So owner tried to tow it with a farm tractor. Rim broke, axle on ground. Nobody hurt. It was not cheap unloading, lifting, replacing parts. Insurance companies involved. As the trailer was owned by 3rd party, cargo by guy who wanted to hire me. IMO 10k overloaded.

Don't blame you mate, that van is a shitbox and it's your licence business and wallet that would get shat on when it flew apart out on the highway, not worth it.

Looks like its was dragged through a gutter and the rear end chassis was broken. Has to go on a supertilt Semi trailer tilt tray or fixed in situ. Many of these caravans aren't built strong enough to hold their own weight. Looks like its in a yard of someone who buys crap at auction, perhaps they failed to mention this to the buyer or the buyer thought they had a cheap deal.

good call, i have cousins brothers that live in the Brisbane region 30/40 minutes out of town and the older brother was telling me he was ready for holidays ONCE AGAIN now that he is retired and just had his 80 series Land Cruiser serviced and it was ready to go and went to pick up his caravan from his dealer where he bought it new in 2017, and to his surprise he told him now wait a minute, it'll be 3 days, he needed new wheel bearings, brakes, tires, brake controller, new propane hoses, and water lines for the underbody and his waste water tank was almost cracked, they had all the parts on hand, and told they go ahead, it was somewhere in the $6000 or a bit more in the end it was almost $7000, and his dealer told him they had stopped him on the motorway they would have made him fix wherever that was closest, he agreed and had admitted he hadn't had a thorough service in 2 years and now is worry free, then he told me he takes it off-road quite a bit and its not a real off road caravan, he said if they found his caravan not to be road worthy the fines can be big money, I am glad he had it fixed,SMH 👍

That is a put on hc flat bed with a shit ton of straps to try and hold it together and hope it holds up at best, and only a small distance to a scrap yard or repair shop.

When you turn up and there’s different wheels and one corner is on bricks you can tell it is probably crap! To move that you’d need a low loader and you’d have to put plenty of cribbing under the arse end and then cinch it down good and firm, then probably sheet or net it to keep the loose bits under control! What a pile of crap, feel slightly sad for the bloke if he really only just bought it!

I came here for the hitch comments, I'm puzzled? I'm American and I've never seen a hitch like that, almost looks upside down. Funny they left a ball for it too.
