It was a highly athletic play, but also one of the most foolish things I have seen. Heads up if the defender actually meant to tip and aim his tip. If he threw it in the field of play and it went to an oklahoma receiver, it would be on a video called dumbest college football highlights. It was quite the gamble. As a coach that play is not worth it 95% of the time, that just happened to work out in that instance.

The only thing that’d have made Boise’s Hook-n-ladder better would have been if the touchdown put them ahead for good. The Statue of Liberty that followed determined whether the Hook-n-Ladder was merely a trick play for a nice TD but not enough to take down OU or was a perfectly timed rarely used trick play that allowed Boise to snatch the Fiesta Bowl trophy from OU’s grasp.

13:59. This is a perfect example of why Johnny Manzel was so good at A&M and why he so totally tanked in the NFL. He survived on broken plays at A&M. And he was just a good enough athlete (without trying too hard) and the defenses were just weak enough (particularly this Duke defense). But this kind of $hit just doesn't happen in the NFL. The line men would eat him up.

I really enjoyed watching Johnny Manziel play for Texas A & M. I was rooting for him in the NFL, but his skills were not enough for the big boys. Not to mention his off-the-field shenanigans. Like Al Bundy and Polk High, Johnny will always have Texas A & M to look back on with pride.

I always kind of felt that he suffered from "JaMarcus Russell Disease"-assuming that because his college career was so good, he really didn't have to try that hard to be a great NFL quarterback. Even for the best amateur athletes, the step to the professional ranks is really big and everybody there is willing to work their tails off. Many years ago, I was quite a good golfer. I had a 4 handicap (so on a par 72 golf course, I'd be expected on average to shoot about a 76, meaning I was in the top 5% of all golfers nationwide). I got to play a round once with someone who'd been on the PGA tour for a couple of years. I had a good round-shot right about my handicap. The best full shot I hit all day was about like the _worst_ one he'd hit.
