The biggest problem NZ have is a lack of really competitive regular opposition beyond the Aussies. They're getting time on the ball and gaps and space on the outside that just won't be there against England & France.

@@meref9973 Don't think anyone is taking it for granted. However England are world number 1 and on a record winning streak. We all know how knockout rugby can go, I'm definitely nervous but excited to see how the Red Roses go. Looks like NZ are peaking well, and France have pushed the Roses hard in each of the last few games.

In 2017, New Zealand defeated Hong Kong, the silver medalist at the Asian championships, 121 to 0. In the 1998 World Cup, New Zealand defeated Germany, 134 to 6. After that, Germany disbanded its women’s team. One year later, Germany also disbanded its men’s team, so devastating was that victory. Despite this margin, Japan is on the rise, and will probably go home proud of the 12 points they scored against the greatest sports team in history. Being the most successful team in Asian history, Japan should be back in 2025 when the World Cup is hosted by England. Persistence is probably their greatest attribute as a nation.

Common theme in Men's rugby. Jordie Barrett for NZ and Reece Hodge for Aust, two names that spring to mind, that step up for the longer kicks. Conversions from wide out are much longer kicks than from in front. Generally the kicker who is considered the more accurate is going to take the kicks comfortably within their kicking range.
