*Renee the fullback is so impressive in her attacking support role, always materialising around the ball carrier!! Such a spectacle to watch!! And the finishers are great, with that ball of detonators Ayesha so hard to put down when she explodes, it simply was amazing!!! I'm impressed with Tauhinu whose service at half back was great. Shucks, the whole Black Ferns team are just splendidly magnificent to watch!!!*

America should never had left the game of Rugby deemed to be too dangerous then. In 1920 the American Professional Football Association was formed. This league changed its name to the National Football League (NFL) two years later, which practically killed the game of Rugby in America. At the time America won gold in upsetting France in the finals of the men's 15 aside version of the game at the Paris Olympics in 1924 and the US women rugby were instrumental in getting the game back into the 2016 Olympics albeit the shorter 7 aside version of the game. I've no doubt they would had been a force in Rugby and still can, as many Americans are rediscovering the game of Rugby. New Zealand competed at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. The team consisted of four competitors: an athlete (Arthur Porritt), a boxer (Charlie Purdy), and two swimmers (Clarrie Heard and Gwitha Shand). Porritt was also the team's manager, and he won the nation's first medal in athletics. But no Rugby Team. The New Zealand rugby union team which toured the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Canada in 1924-25 was nicknamed ‘The Invincibles’ after it won all 32 of its games overseas. The tour included test matches against Ireland, England, Wales, and France. Overall the team scored 838 points and conceded only 116. Rugby was well established in New Zealand before 1924 and still our National Sport today. Our women 15 aside team are reigning 6 times World Champions, and the All Blacks 3 times World mens Champion and most successful team in history against all Nations.

Good skills, esp considering the conditions. The production of the highlights needs some work though. Am I to assume they missed the final conversion? Having the final score up should be a fairly basic box to tick I would have thought.

Until there's more $$ coming into the US program (men's and women's), I think they're going to be behind. Nice to see the Ferns fired up though, they have their eyes set on the Roses.

Woohoo we back baby - what a game, what a team and you can tell they are only just getting started. There seems to such belief in the structures, the support lines are world class and even when the team pivots through substitution the same intelligent structures are maintained. NZ is always blessed with such high level sporting talent, but it takes a world class environment to bring that all together into a cohesive winning team. Cannot wait to watch more Black Fern magic!

The Black Ferns are looking faster and more agile as they've shed some kilos. This game reminds me of how they got absolutely trounced by the England team. It's good to have "some" bulk, but if the opposition can just out run you, it's one way traffic and game over. I'm glad to see that the coaches have recognized this.

On the surface you would say they would be a lot closer but just now they are still off the pace. They certainly have the players (some who haven't played in this tournament to potentially come back) from attack/defense point of view however scrum, lineout, maul and kicking game needs to ramp up. As the Blues reminded us on Saturday, if you don't bring your set piece game then expect a long day at the office.

Well we all know what happened been told our Black Ferns were amateurs and inferior to France and England by an English fan, and that was a week after the inferior reigning World Champions lifted the Cup for a record six times, how rude. Guess we'll always be inferior to some, but we'll always take heart in proving the knockers wrong. Cause our women have defended their status as Reigning World Champions, inferior to nobody. England, France, & Canada are all Great teams and Ambassador's for woman rugby. A pity some English fans. can't accept it, that their professional Rugby team, lost to an inferior team. Step in Wayne Smith and a few ex All Blacks who turned up at training turned things around same team, different mind set, and were the one's to end England's record run of wins, like "World Champion's" they are. My apologies I just notice comments were made 5 month ago. But won't change the result
