Watched it live but from home. tmTge atmosphere must've been intense. Especially once BJS started timing Canelo. The fight had twist and turns followed by a crazy finish. That punch that broke BJS orbital bone was brutal. Canelo knew right away that it was job done Will forever wish that punch didn't land quite as clean to see how the final rounds played out. But Canelo was up against maybe the most technical guy from 154-175. Most technical fighter vs the best counter puncher with brutal power. It was one that was in the making for years and probably should've happened when 160 was booming after BJD showed his level vs Lemieux

Canelo has changed his style in the past 4 years. He went from being more of a counter puncher to a aggressive defensive counter puncher. He's finally found his rythm, and performs well as a rhythm fighter. He uses his waist /feints and glove control as he walks opponents down to the ropes. All the while keeping his countering tools ready to use, rare to find a combination of both in a fighter. It's a throwback to the old fighters, all duran, jake Lamotta and a Marvin hagler.
@paulcris1072 жыл бұрын
What’s a rhythm fighter never heard of that
@stevesmartialarts36532 жыл бұрын
@@paulcris107 Every fighter has a rythm. In canelos case he starts to flow once he uses his tools to get into a state of flow. (High guard, lead hand control and waist movement). Once he gets into this flow he lands at will and powerfully. He is not a strict counter puncher on the back-foot, rather a come forward counter puncher.
