@Iron Floyd drained that man, who was damn 22 at the time, all the way down to 151 lbs in their fight. From his natural walking weight of 175-ish (at the time) all the way down to 151 in the span of a week (for the weigh-in) is every nutritionists and health doctor's worst nightmare. That bangs up your body on so many levels. In conclusion? Floyd drained a kid down to his limit for a tactical advantage. It's smart, but damn hell underhanded and dirty.

When I see Canelo fight, I think of Mike Tyson in his prime:"they all have a plan, until they're in the ring". The best thing that happened to him was his loss to Floyd and facing Lara and GGG. If you can take a loss and learn from it, if you face a defensive master like Lara and edge him and if you can take a punch from GGG (yes, the last two are controversial wins) you can pretty much face anyone. He learned from Floyd to adjust to a fighter and Canelo has always been patient. His IQ in the ring matured and his own defense is better. He uses the uppercut and double hooks masterfully and is a great body and counter puncher. He loves to inflict pain which is why the only guy that hits with that mean streak like him is GGG. Only guys like Hagler, Leonard, a prime Roy Jones and Carlos Monzon would be the guys I would've put in the ring with him. You are witnessing the P4P King of this era until someone better comes along.

@@alexmontoya2171 agree. David Benavidez has a chance against Canelo. The problem I have is that David is 24 years old. I feel like he needs more experience before facing Canelo. Love Canelo's calm attitude at press conferences, he is relaxed and nonchalant. You can see it in his eyes, when watching his opponent- " I don't wanna talk shit, that's your department. Let's just get in the ring and go to work. ", lol This is a good example of the old saying " The quiet ones are always the most dangerous!".

Canelo learned so much in his 45 min training match with Mayweather. You dont see boxers adjust like this guy does. He is already at the top and hes more active than the guys coming up. He bounces around three weight classes like its nothing and he looks to be improving in each fight. He is the most well rounded boxer Ive ever seen in 40 years as a fan who watches every fight.

Ah yes & no. I saw Canelo in his two warm up fights before Jr & I thought to myself, "he will never beat Jr fighting like this." Meaning he was boxing way too much & not attacking enough. He could have had a much better chance of beating Jr had he attacked him more than try to out box him. No one out boxes Jr. Jose Luis Castillo showed tye world how to beat Jr but all of them after obviously didn't pay attention to that fight.

I remember where I was back during Canelo vs Cotto. A couple of Mexican friends and I were hanging out with some Puerto Rican friends who bought the fight and invited us over to watch it. Now, let me make it clear that everything was in good fun. Yes, we were Mexico vs Puerto Rico, and, yes, we were all rooting for our respective guy to win and dissing the other fighter, but we were all respectful to each other, and there was no ill will to anyone. In the beginning, the Puerto Rican friends started out loud and boisterous with one guy saying Cotto would dominate and could defeat Mayweather now that he had Roach with him (I guess he really bought what Cotto said). As the fight progressed and Canelo took over, the Mexican crowd grew very happy while Puerto Rican guys really got silent. I mean, they went from 100 to 0, and the looks on their faces was nothing but despair. Heck, one guy was even crying. After Canelo was announced as the winner, the Mexicans thought about going out to celebrate and invited the Puerto Ricans over, but they all just looked so depressed. They all just went home right after the fight, and the host even just locked himself in his room. It was quite the night.

I don’t watch boxing regularly but Canelo is easy my fave bcos I swear this guy just fights absolutely anybody for any belt and also fights so often compared to other fighters I feel like. Some of the names he’s tough on his record is really impressive he’s just destroying everyone

Shane Mosley is a human tank and a very classy guy! He's one of the only people I've seen get beat seriously by Alvarez but who was still able to walk off the ring without their face actually showing it.

@@AggroSamurai Chávez at his prime went up in weight to face rosario, someone Who no one wanted to fight. Sent him to the hospital was never the same. Than Taylor was with Duva making alot of noise and Chávez did the same to Meldick bigger, faster and younger! Sent to the hospital and like rosario never would recover!

One of the most impressive aspects of Canelo is not only the punishment he dishes out but also how the threat of his counters (along with the elusiveness of his defense) causes opponents to become reluctant to commit to their punches and open up against him including bigger guys known for their power.

If you don’t go into a fight confident, you lose before the fight starts. Of course they go in confident. I haven’t heard any excuses, only respect.

the presser where Lara called him out was pretty funny, Lara said "people want to see them fight", then Canelo asked those who want to see them fight to raise their hands and only 1 dude did so, then Canelo said "that's your manager" lol :D
