Always love seeing Diaz scoring and assisting. It's taken awhile but he's really beginning to show a more complete game than just the speed.

Yeah I have been down on him in seasons past because of his lack of technical ability. The kid is obviously putting in hard work.

I don't know why Watford let Cucho go or how the hell he ended up in Columbus, but I'm really glad he did. Players like Cucho and Puig who have struggled to find their footing in Europe have chosen MLS to get their careers back on track, that's saying something. Contrary to what Eurosnobs and MLS haters like to believe, MLS is no longer a retirement league, and it certainly isn't a cakewalk either. If you as a player are willing to take your time here seriously, then MLS can help serve as a springboard back to Europe. If Cucho and Puig continue to show out over here, then I have no doubt they'll be back in Europe sooner rather than later.

My guess is that it has to do with Columbus being owned by NFL owners haha. They have the money.

You need to get this "MLS trolling" thing will never end. The same thing is going on within Europe or everywhere in the World. I think it's a good thing because , it pushed MLS franchises to invest , to move forward and not just wait for players to come and sign in. Young players coming from MLS are doing well in Europe so everybody knows that MLS is not that bad. But to be considered as a major league, MLS really needs to adopt the relegation-promotion system and get rid of this closed type league. I follow USL championship and I've seen some teams that really deserve to get promoted to MLS and also some of poor managed MLS teams would maybe enjoy a tour in the lower division. This system is just for minor or developping system.

@@ephjissay4077 So MLS would benefit from the same pro/rel system that has enabled 2-3 teams max to be in contention for a title in every league that has it? Yes, it will promote competition at the bottom, but what about at the top? The only reason why pro/rel exists and is sustainable in other countries is because it's so engrained in their culture. What fun is it being a German soccer fan knowing that Bayern is gonna win the Bundesliga before the season even starts? Or imagine being Spanish knowing that it's gonna be either Barca, Real Madrid or possibly Atletico winning La Liga? MLS is too young and not stable enough to implement such a system, at least not yet. I would love to see teams like Louisville City and Phoenix Rising going up against the likes of LAFC and Seattle, but for every Louisville and Phoenix, there's an FC Tulsa and Birmingham Legion, teams who fare significantly worse off the field. Of course MLS has those kinds of teams too (Chicago, Colorado, etc.), but because of the franchise model that MLS has, regardless of how you feel about it, it makes it a safer bet for owners, investors, etc. David Tepper didn't just spend over $300 million on an expansion franchise for them to get potentially relegated in their inaugural season. MLS and soccer as a whole don't have the same cultural pull in America that it does in Europe and Latin America, and we have to realize that soccer isn't gonna become as popular as football and basketball overnight. Right now, the USL and MLS are butting heads; MLS is seeking to expand into other markets such as Cleveland and Huntsville not only to have new expansion teams for MLS Next Pro, but to take potential markets away from the USL. The USL on the other hand is looking to implement pro/rel sometime in the near future, in direct contrast with MLS. The only way I could ever see pro/rel working in the near future is if the USL bolstered all of its teams in terms of infrastructure and fan support and directly aligned itself under MLS as a second league. But as we all know, MLS wants all the American club soccer spoils for itself, so I doubt we'll see anything close to that happening.

@@cx34 you mentionned a point : Culture . Football (or Soccer) is a cultural thing beyond being just a sport. That's why you get name like Footballl club, Sports clubs, Athletic Clubs or United Club etc ... and not Lakers , Plumbers or Avengers , those are nicknames ... that's the whole difference between US sports and the rest of THE WORLD . It's all about bet, owners and investors first nothing or very few about culture or social plug. MLS does exist in this closed league system since 1996, the English Premier League has been reformed in 1995. In the 70's NASL was on its way to be a big league but this same structure killed it. Do you think the only interest in the major leagues in Europe or elsewhere is about the top ? So you must know pretty little about the football culture . The strugglings of mythics clubs to maintain themselves at the last match of the season in the top leagues or the last minute goal of a club to get promoted to the top are some dramas , some kind of emotions that will never be felt in MLS and its a big handicap to sell this league outside USA. Before talking about Europe, let's talk about less bigger and neighbouring leagues of MLS like Liga MX in Mexico or Brasilerao in Brasil. In those leagues, you can't easily guess the winner and the final matchs for rel/prom battle are just epic. As a result , those leagues are way ahead compared to MLS. I am sorry to say that but americans are too limited when it comes to think outside the box. Why do you think sports like Baseball, US Foot are struggling to expand out of USA ? It's the structure. It's too safe to be interesting , it's boring !!!!!!!! If David Tepper spent 300$ million on an expansion franchise then he better be careful about how those franchises are manage and not be giving insurances for them to be comfortable on their mediocre way. It's only in USA that you can see a team named Los Angeles moving to another town to settle overthere for the season ... how on earth ?!!!! I don't know the plan of the MLS headquaters for the coming seasons but I think , the actual system will not stand for very long time because unlike other like Basketball , Baseball or USfootball , minor leagues are just developping too fast . I am in Africa , I've been watching NBA since I was a kid but I can assure you that very few people know about the G-league which is a lower clone league of the NBA , but most of the people watching the MLS , know about the lower league . The gap between the best teams in USL or even CSL and the weakest teams in MLS is too tight to keep this closed system for long time. MLS is still expanding but till when ? How many teams will it count ? There are already 28 teams, more than the NBA and it is still growing .
@ephjissay4077
@ephjissay4077 Жыл бұрын
@rodri darko it's not about the American sports culture , it's about the Football's culture. What do MLS organizers want ? To sell the MLS all over the world ? Or just set it to fit the local market which is minor compared to NBA, MLB or NFL ? More DPs , and and a higher salary cap would be good no doubt, but not enough on a long term.

Let's not forget that in Miami against Columbus, Campana and Pozuelo were missing. For me it was a predictable victory, even if Columbus played a very bad game (offensively they are still not very effective). Miami, on the other hand, has a bad defense. Against Chicago, Miami should win as CHI is out of the Playoff race
@Stefano.Martino83

@Max79 🥇 MIA will win against CHI, I'm pretty sure about that. Seeing the ranking between MIA / CIN / NE, the most beautiful football is played between these three teams, undoubtedly CIN. They put their heart and soul into it. MIA with Pozuelo made an excellent choice. Seeing the MIA calendar the last 3 Matches will be very tough, the next 3 Matches must win. ORL is in great shape, but right now I see PHI in the final (technically one of the strongest teams, but suffering a little from away matches)

Неоправданно много индивидуальных действий в ущерб игре, когда лучше бы отдать пас. Но в целом заслуженная победа. И почему комментаторы всё время говорили "good job" (ни в одном другом обзоре я не слышал так часто одну и туже фразу)?

Seems like every time my herons wear black, their chances of losing increase, but then again Pozuelo serving a red card punishment also doesn't help either. Impressive they kept the crew to only 1 (we honestly have one of best pair of GKs in the league right now), but at the same time with a tight fight for the last spots of the playoffs, this became a mountainhill more than a hill to outlast.

I keep saying cucho is just too damn good for this league. But it’s good for the league. Miami was outplayed. Barely any attacking action. But the good is they held up the Crew attack. I’ll say it again and again, Phil needs to go. This roster is better than most. Losing 1-0 okay but the way you keep playing is less than what this roster can give.

Jean Mota - our best long-distance scorer, but with some of our players injured and Pozuelo serving a 🟥suspension, I guess he was Phil Neville's last option as a defending midfielder even though he's clearly more of an attacking midfielder
