Man, what a footballer, timeless, ageless, I know this is only the MLS, but they way the attack changed as soon as Messi came on the pitch is insane and even Busquets, first touches were iffy, but some of the passes he was pinging to and finding Messi with were insane.

@@roge6675 They are actually 29th in MLS if you take into account both conferences. But Miami was a solid mid-table team until they got hit by that incredible rash of injuries this season. Losing your entire starting midfield, the main backup to those midfielders, and your best defender, is going to be pretty disastrous for any team. This is particularly true in MLS where the teams tend to have very shallow benches because of the salary cap. Half the players that started this game are local boys from their development team who were never intended to be first team starters this early in their careers.

I'm really looking forward to the Open Cup semifinal in Cincinnati on Aug. 23. That Cup is Miami's best chance of winning something this season and qualifying for next years Concacaf Champions League and the possibility of making it to the Club World Cup. By then Messi and some of the other new guys should be better integrated into the team. Hopefully Gregore might even be back by then as well (one of the best defensive midfielders in MLS after being one of the best defensive midfielders in the Brazilian league). But Cincinnati is going to be a real test. Runaway leaders of MLS and pretty much unbeatable at home, they are a very good team top to bottom and have just added a new DP forward from Europe to make them even stronger. It's a team full of players with first division experience in Europe, supplemented by a couple of young American internationals, and led by Lucho Acosta, who until Messi arrived, was arguably the best 10 in the league. Also note that Apple doesn't have the rights to the Open Cup. The previous rounds were available for free on KZbin, though I imagine that the USSF might now find buyers for the rights to these final rounds.
