Highlights from the Mil Pollera Festival 2025 in Las Tablas, Panama

The Pollera Festival is a major draw for locals and visitors alike. I rode the bus from Allbrook and stayed with my SWRA sister in Chitre. What a lovely experience, made another friend. Enjoy the sites and sounds.

Panamá, my beloved country, I describe as a “paella” a dish in which you find a little bit of everything in the same pot, unlike other places with different pots. Love it ❤ When Panama Viejo was destroyed by Pirate Henry Morgan, some of the people who used to live there moved to what is now Casco Viejo, and others moved to the Azuero Peninsula. Azuero is where you'll find Spain-influenced Panama, as opposed to the Caribbean side, where you'll find Africa-influenced Panama. Panama City is where all the cultures come together and live in harmony with each other.

Well said. Thank you for the history lesson as always. Yes, when I was in Chitre last year, I could really feel and see the Spanish influence...even at the Cathedral with Spanish guitar infused church music. It was lovely.
