Very helpful content. I'm 57 and single. I've had similar experiences on dating apps and wouldn't use them again. I'm happy being single and would only get into a relationship with someone I know I can trust fully and I'm very compatible with. All the risks you mention are what I've thought about too.

I’m so happy I found your channel!! I’m retiring next year and I really want to move to South Africa; however my only grandbaby will only be 2 and I just love her so much and the thought of not seeing her and my daughter every weekend hurts my soul. My daughter works from home and I know she’ll need me to babysit. What I plan to do is vacation in South Africa after retiring to see how I like the culture. LOL as I’m typing this you’re talking about family/grandchildren

I have taken Spanish forever (as well as Latin, French, German) colleg courses, practice groups, etc. My income is decent. But no way do I want to move to a country where I'd have to give up important benefits, fly everytime I need to see my nearest and dearest kin or even get special medical treatment. I am totally physically fit and am often mistaken for middle-aged. I would love to have a second home in Panama, but don't have the income. And I know you are correct about the state of assisted living in the U.S. But I'm not ready to give up all to be an Ex- Pat.

Discuss it with your medical team and see if they can make it work or think you should try to make it work. My team has encouraged me for the past five years and have helped me to develop a plan so I can go. The only concern I have is having to pay for my own healthcare there. I'm in a comprehensive care program so my doctor tend to spend 30 minutes or more with me which unheard of elsewhere in the USA. So I'm blessed, I know it.

I just love your videos. I'm writing from Kenya. I'm currently happy with being a "snowbird" that is, traveling to a warm place for two to three months during the winter weather since my home base is on the East Coast USA. @singlewomenretiringabroad I have been here for only two weeks, and part of that was a safari tour. You know one has to stay for a month or two and live like a native to get a real feel for it. Anyway, I love that it's an English-speaking country. Kenyans seem to be very mild mannered. They can't tell that I'm any different, so I blend right in. I like not being seen as different. I can really get used to this. NAIROBI is very modern with all the different kinds of stores and products that I need. Dollars can get pulled right out of the ATM. Ubers are operating just like in the USA. It would be easy to assimilate. I hope to see some condo vacancies while I'm here. I can live well here on my pension and social security.
