I remember the rumble and feeling the ground vibrate when roche came past us down the front straight. My first introduction to WSB in real life. Amazing to feel the atmosphere and also to get to know lots of theses guys on a personal level. They were so approachable and so relaxed, being the last race of the season.

Not long after this at Oran park in Sydney Mick Doohan had his first SBK race & against all these guys , and won by 40 secs

Thank America for SBK and their great riders and many to become World Champs ! Their early days .. Wes Cooley, Freddie Spencer, Eddie Lawson, Mike Baldwin And later ... Wayne Rainey, Fred Merkel, Kevin Schantz, Doug Polen, Scott Russell, Doug Chandler, Miguel Duhamel, Colin Edwards, Nicky Hayden etc The USA had an Amazing run of great riders but sadly haven't had one on the world stage for some time now !!

@@wet4uracing69 A Rob was a great SBK Racer but he's an Aussie, I had a great conversation with Rob at the Mosport SBK in Canada in 1989' nice guy, I was just mentioning the many great American riders really. Thanks for posting !! 👍

Terry Rymer, top man, chatted with him at Brands Hatch for the superb BSB finale, Terry is working for DAO Kawasaki (soon to be Honda). He was in rude health and as enthusiatic for racing as ever.
