It was another night to remember for Ireland as they put 9 past Georgia to move into second place in their 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifying group. A hat-trick from Katie McCabe, a brace from Louise Quinn, plus further goals from Megan Connolly, Niamh Fahey, Denise O'Sullivan & teenager Abbie Larkin saw Ireland ease past their hosts in style.

lol whats the point in having goalkeepers in womens football, what do they do. Game is pretty much hit the target, goal

You know that ' some ' of the lower ranked womens teams are complete amateurs, dont you? Rep of Ireland are ranked 23, thats pretty good. Georgia are ranked 128. Of course you dont mean ' every ' goalkeeper in womens football, do you ? When the Nations league starts up in September , Georgia will have a much better chance, as they are in a division with other teams of their level . Turkey , Luxembourg , Lithuania. Ranked 64 , 100 and 118. Plus, the amount of support , in funding, training , facilities etc , is very poor in some countries. When fully trained professionals ( katy McCabe , top WSL player ) meet one of the lowest teams in the world , this happens. But you knew all this, didnt you ? :)

Clearly you don’t watch much women’s football. There’s a clear difference in skill level between these two teams, so could the keeper do much, no, but generalising all of women’s football based on that is ridiculous.
