A good point IMO. Mansfield are a good team and the fact is Wrexham have been conceding loads of goals away from home so to keep a clean sheet like this is progress. Long season ahead - minimum goal is to stay in the Football League this season and Wrexham have shown they're more than capable of that. Also top 3 go up automatically so Wrexham are well in the race for that. Unlike the last few years, finishing 2nd is absolutely fine for the foreseeable future as 2nd place means automatic promotion anyway.

We have only conceded 7 goals away from home (scoring 3) and conceded 16 goals at home, scoring 20. We certainly need to stop leaking goals - personally, I think the problem is in midfield with us (a) giving the ball away too cheaply; (b) sitting too deep so that when the long ball is played up to the two forwards they are isolated and lose the ball; and (c) playing too many long balls out of defence, by-passing midfield. When we have played through the middle as we did against Grimsby and Tranmere, we looked superb.

Great point fr WX as Mansfield battered them! Back to Back promotion is gonna be tough on this form!😮

I"m a fan of Wrexham but look at the standings I would say Notts County will automatically be promoted to league 1, back to back promotion in shortest time which make Wrexham look very bad. I'm a bit sour about it, hope Wrexham can give a bit more boost.

gonna have to start getting Ws, unless we want to hang out in league two for another year or so...
@bobstephens66558 ай бұрын
Perhaps. It took Luton 4 years to get out of League 2, after promotion from the National League in 2013 - 14, and then six years to progress to the Premier League. We will need a new team in about two or three years time in my opinion, replacing ageing players with the skill / ability to compete in League One and above (assuming we are promoted).

@@bobstephens6655 Luton didn't have wrexham's bankroll.
@bobstephens66558 ай бұрын
True, but having the bankroll that Wrexham apparenly has does not guarantee promotion - Salford City are an example. Ultimately, it is down to having the right players and getting them to play well as a team over a 46 match season.@@TheRedStateBlue

@@bobstephens6655 hence the unacceptability of not getting Ws... if rob and ryan want the club to be self-sustaining, as they claim, they're gonna need more than league two and league one money, as soon as possible. which is why they've spent what they have an acquiring talent. that talent needs to perform better.

I hate to say this but...Tozer made some really bad passes that could have cost us the game!
@bobstephens66558 ай бұрын
Ben Tozer was not the only one to make poor passes. Most of the midfield seem to be prone to making poor passes in critical areas of the pitch.

Wrexham's defensive players have been out played way too many times by other teams offensive players. Wrexham needs to spend some money on more skilled defensive players.

This lineup doesn’t work. O’Connor is the best CM in the league 2, but nowhere close as a CB. And people wonder why we have had 24 scored against us. Fletcher also needs more than 5 minutes a game. He has created more chances in his 5 minutes a game then Palmer in his 85 a game

Even Mansfield plays better football than the ManUtd current squad. Wrexham goalkeeper is better than Ooo Nana.
